I just read an article wherein Romney purportedly made a statement that Obama supporters will vote for him because they are dependent on the government and that he will not even try to bring them over to the Republican side. The story [I'll look for a link] goes on to say that Romney appeared to be bashing on the poor, blacks, people on SSI retirement and disability, et. al.

The way the article was written makes Romney look very bad, so I wonder how long before democrats climb up on their high horses and denounce him for speaking the truth?:judge:

I heard the quote last night. It does sound bad, coming from a presidential candidate, but he spoke the truth (IMHO).

Who cares, the difference played, is the bait for the weak minded.
Crap is as crap does ancona.
Votes do not count between twins.

Dr. Ron Paul spoke the Truth, and it has kept him from getting the republican nod 3 times. People dont like hearing the Truth.

I hope Romney loses because Romney is going to be the same as Obama on the fiscal issues. At least Obama is rational on the social issues.

Would it surprise you if a Mormon president would prosecute pornography?

would it surprise you if Obama/Romney declared martial law or Nuked Iran? Or reinstated Bernanke? At least Obama sounds good in front of his teleprompter. He doesn't care about social issues.

wow, just saw this on another forum:

Osama bin Laden didn't just win.
He obliterated us. Forever.
Freedom is dead. By our own hand.

Nope, RP isn't gonna save us either. But he'll make people feel better for a little while.

I really think you guys are ignorant if you don't think a Republican Mormon president would institute a more repressive, fundamental social policy.

I'm not sure if it would be more repressive, but undoubtedly it would be repressive. Whether you get shot in the head from the right side or the left, you're still dead. That's about all the difference I see of the types of repression from the 2 guys running for president.

About Romney losing the election, I have believed for a long time that reason they pushed for him to win the GOP nomination is because TPTB want Obama in for a second term (watch for gun laws to be changed), and they knew that if Ron Paul actually ran against B.O. he (Dr. Paul) had a very good chance of winning it all. That is why all the stops were pulled in order to keep RP out of the race.

Romney lost before he ever started. He is just another stool pigeon of the same banks and vested interests that gave money to Obama

Romney and Obama will both continue the current suspension of habeas corpus and the NDAA act which allows the murder of American citizens without trail. Both will continue the war mongering and murder of innocent civilians in undeclared wars. Both will continue to destroy all of the rights guaranteed by the constitution. Both will rob you blind with inflation and ensure that you and all future generations will be debtor slaves to the bankster buddies that fund their campaigns.

What issues of "social policy", besides porn, do you think are more important than that?

...why, porn, right to abortion, gay marriages and of course DRUGS, are the SOURCE (and not the EFFECT, not at all!) of all our troubles, worldwide - can there possibly be more important issues than these?

/Sarcasm mode off

I found this website to be informative:
http://www.isidewith.com/

It presents you with 50 political issues and lets you pick your best solution to those issues. It then matches your choice with the politician with the closests stances. It is an eye opener for some.

While one can be dragged into the mess- food on the table issues are paramount to me.

I think Romney needs to hire some better advisers and staff. IMHO there wasn't much untruth in what he was saying, except the point is obviously lost on that 47%. Who in turn, get a lot of support in the MSM, because it makes nice fluff for the news channels to discuss and generate revenue from their advertisements.

Deep down, I freaking hate election year. Just don't like the fake 'choice' shit that they try and say we have. We have no choice. "They" made sure that honesty didn't make it to the vote to begin with, and the banks already voted with QE3.

I agree with your sentiment too, Penn. Food, shelter, money and liberty are paramount. All that other stuff is just noise to distract the people too dumb to stay focused on real issues.

I vote for ME!!..............for Emperor! I promise to straighten the fuckers right out too. No more nonsense. The hangings will continue until people start to act like human beings again. Also, it will be illegal for an American Citizen who has not ever been convicted of a felony NOT to carry a sidear, of some sort.

I did this a couple weeks back. I cant remember the exact percentages but they were very close to:

Ron Paul 99%
Gary johnson 97%
Mitt Romney 2%
Barack Obama 0%

LOL

That website also broke down which candidate would win which state based on the same issues based voting. Based on the issues, Gary Johnson would win the election by a comfortable margin, with Obama taking second. Amusingly, Romney only won 3 states in that scenario.

Guys, help me out here. Somewhere, for sure on wikipedia, there was a very left-wing think tank (?) that proposed the way for the left to always win was to increase entitlements till no one wasn't getting enough to never vote to cut them, but I can't remember the names so I can't find it again. It goes "way back" to the '60s (?) or so.

It'd be nice to have that link handy to explain what mittens said and why its important.

Ron Paul isn't an option now so the results are somewhat skewed. In many of those questions, Dr. Paul is one of a kind and so the answer won't fit any of the rest (except for Johnson)
