I'm thinking about having some of these graded since they are first yr issue. Any suggestions?

Sorry, I don't have any experience with grading coins. I know there are peeps who buy sealed monster boxes of ASEs with the intent to open the box and have the coins graded, but I never paid much attention to the process.

AFAIK, there are only one or two main grading services. You might try contacting them directly and asking what the process is.

I would be concerned with any process that requires the item to be removed from your possession. Much like with diamonds and other things, I don't understand how people can be so trusting that high dollar merchandise isn't switcheroo'd behind closed doors if it truly does make the grade. $.02

There are a couple of high profile coin shows each year that the PCGS goes to and you can have your coins graded in your presence. I agree with PMBug on that point as well. I would not let my shiny out of my direct line of sight either. Here's a link that may help.
