Hey, there's IRIDIUM in meteors, so this is a legit post, no?

I have been away visiting family, one of whom had a bad fall, he looks to be getting better, but it was scary (broken bones, broken vertebrae)... My nephew will be in a back brace for three months now, but his broken arm (two places) will heal at the same time..., multitasking!

Anyway, the below has info on the meteor shower as well as expected weather conditions for N America:

I heard on the radio this evening that best viewing will be from 1:00 AM - 4:00 AM (US ET).

Adjust for time differences if you do not live in the East.

Also, meteor showers are almost always better after midnight (real midnight, not Daylight Savings Time midnight), because that's when the Earth's rotation turns TOWARD incoming meteors.

Someone must hate me. Thick cloud cover for the next few days here.

Even if invited, I would not travel to Florida to view them. California is closer, but I have no inclination of traveling from this Socialist pigpen to an even worse Socialist pigpen.

ancona is right, a complete dud. I saw ZERO in about 15 mins (total) around 1:00 AM - 3:00 AM, I had some 50% of the sky visible. Perfect weather.

*Sigh*
