Too much detail. To get a Youtube video to embed, you need to check two things:

• http: instead of https: (you did this correctly)
• watch?v={11chars code} ONLY. delete the extraneous variables like "&feature=player..."

Thanks PMBug !! I've been wondering about this also for a long time. In the past, I've read what people had said to do to embed a video correctly in a post, but apparently, I've always done something wrong.

I'll try what you mentioned above someday, when I can link to an interesting/important video . . .
