Gold bugs hold physical, not paper, so I reject the premise (of the first link). The article is also confusing trading with saving and therefore considers a very narrow window of time.

BTW, how many liquidations does it take to kill a gold bug?

"Gold bug" is considered a pejorative by many financial pundits. I like to think the gold bug is a cockroach (hence my avatar). Cockroaches have been around since the dinosaurs and will likely outlive humans (as a species). They are crazy adaptable and survivors.
