Pardon my French, but Miami Intl is a shit hole of an airport. Stuff goes "missing" from their baggage handling / inspection all the time. I remember working overseas once (at a refinery) when a crew of contractors arrived from California via Miami. One of the guys who arrived got all his luggage, but half the contents were missing including his Nomex suit and one of his two boots. Who steals just one boot? F'n Miami Intl Airport workers - that's who.
