Jaret Coles, A Montana legislative staff attorney needs to be fired. He's quoted as saying : "The United States Constitution does not require states to pay debts in gold or silver."

Article 1 Section 10 of the U.S. Constitutions states: "No State shall make anything but gold or silver coin tender in payment of debt."
