There are a lot of broke celebrities, athletes, etc. Lot's of people don't understand (or repsect) the value of money. Easy come, easy go!

She is the daughter of Aaron Spelling, a powerhouse Hollywood TV show producer. She became famous when daddy gave her a starring role in Beverly Hills 90210, where she stuck out like a sore thumb cast amongst prettier people who could actually act. She went on to more acting gigs, no doubt thanks to daddy's pull.

I kind of feel sorry for her. There is nothing unusual about a Dad trying to help their own kid. However, rich Dad's make poor parents because they don't let their kids learn how to stand on their own two feet. They remember when they were poor and don't want their kids to experience the same thing. Kind of sad really because many of these kids grow up basically uneducated, mostly incompetent, and fairly unhappy. Tori Spelling didn't pick her Dad, and he sure didn't do her any favors with all the money he threw at her.

IIRC she got about a bajillion dollars when he croaked and they auctioned off a bunch of his estate, not to mention she still gets royalties on the re-runs. I won't be getting my violin out for her anytime soon.

I find her to be interesting. The whole celeb thing. A case study into life.

Her dad had talent. I dont think she is fighting with her mom again- her brother and friends are pretty silent on fb.

Update on Tori Spelling. She took a loss on the sale of her house, her reality show was cancelled, she was in the hospital for 55 days after the birth of her 4th child, and she burned through $800,000 that her Mom gave her when her father Aaron Spelling died.

So why is this important? Well it's not really that important but if you are following another really excellent and thought provoking thread called "Is It Time to Buy Gold Now?" you could have learned something useful.

Some guys follow sports, some camp, hunt fish, garden-- some popular culture is of interest to me.

I was sad to see Destin, and Rachel left the Millionaire Matchmaker. I am friends with them and a few who appeared on the show. So I keep up with that. I also have chats with the gal on the Brady Bunch.

All doom all the time is no good. Silver will go up and it will go down and it will go up. When there is a ball game most the time a team will win.

Tori Spelling offered lucrative porn deal
By: WENN.com

Tori Spelling has been offered a big money deal to release a sex tape she made with husband Dean Mcdermott. The Beverly Hills, 90210 star reveals in her new memoirs, Spelling It Like It Is, that she and her partner decided to film themselves in the bedroom on Valentine's Day in 2009. The tape almost became public knowledge when one of McDermott's pals found it on his laptop and threatened to publish it. The pair scared the man off by setting their lawyers on him, but now they have been offered a deal by porn mogul Steve Hirsch to release the tape for real. In a letter to Spelling, Hirsch writes, "This is a serious offer for a real tape and it could yield significant returns to help you through your difficult financial situation." Spelling, whose father was multi-millionaire TV producer Aaron Spelling, recently admitted she has had to cut back on luxuries after a dry patch in her and her husband's careers.

This might finally get people to stop watching internet porn. :rotflmbo:

I looked this broad up on the internet, and saw that she has burned through about forty five million dollars, so I have absolutely zero feeling for this spoiled little bitch. I really don't care if she ends up living in a cardboard box behind a dumpster at K-mart.

These idiots that are given millions upon millions of dollars, yet manage to squander every last cent and then borrow more to maintain the facade of being wealthy disgust me to the core. This chick made an absolute mint on some TV show that became popular, yet she's crying poor because she not only did not manage her money properly, she thought the party would never end, so she spent like a drunken sailor.

The average schmoe [me for instance] will never see a pile of money resembling what this chick plowed through in a few short years, yet I'm supposed to feel sorry for her? Yeah......I don't think so.

Punchline:
What's the difference between Tori Spelling and Nancy Pelosi?....The spelling.

ori Spelling's late father is contacting her with coins.
According to spiritual medium Rebecca Rosen, the 40-year-old actress is receiving messages from her dad Aaron - a film and TV producer who died in 2006 from complications after a stroke - who is using money to send her messages as he wants her to know she's on the right path.

2 November 2013
During an interview with Giuliana Rancic for E! News, spiritual medium Rebecca told Tori: "Dad is sending you coins. It serves as him winking at you, like you're on the right track and he's making sure that you're taken care of."

The former 'Beverly Hills 90210' star admits her two older children, seven-year-old son Liam, and Stella, six, are obsessed with coins and she remembers that her daughter recently found one and referred to it as "magic".

Rebecca went on to tell Tori that Aaron feels incredibly blessed to have her as a daughter and he has learned more about her since he passed away.

Rebecca said: "He wants you to know that he feels deep appreciation for you being his child in this lifetime, and he understands you now better that he ever did in life."

Tori Spelling knows she could easily make a quick million or more by releasing her sex tape ... but TMZ has learned she has plans to do that ... NEVER.

Sources close to Tori tell us ... what happens in the bedroom stays in the bedroom ... and she's flat out rejecting Vivid honcho Steve Hirsch's offer to take a look at a bone-n-groan vid she claims to have made with her husband Dean back in 2009.

The exact quote: "She would never entertain an offer like that ... ever!"

We first reported ... Hirsch wrote a letter saying he's prepared to make a "substantial offer" for the video ... but wants to see it first to make sure it actually exists.

Fact is ... almost no one knew it existed ... until Tori decided to write about it in her new book.

This is what happens when you give kids a credit card instead of a normal allowance. First time they see a shiny coin they think it's magic. :rotflmbo:

These stories are hilarious Penn. I had no idea Tori Spelling was so entertaining.

i am friends with her brother too- randy.

These people are filthy rich. They lose a house worth 100 million $, they lose a movie contract and say they are "BROKE".

But they have hundreds of kilos of gold, dozens of Ferraris, lots of other homes, a small city's GDP in bank accounts, diamond rings worth more than my entire fortune!

Well at least every time they lose a million dollars somebody else gains a million, and for them a million dollars is chump change. My lifestyle is quite modest. A single Ferrari would be fine. :rotflmbo:

...

Penn's earlier comment about popular culture stuck in my brain for a day or so... I do not really follow popular culture (I am kind of "out of it", not hip), the Red Sox won, right?

But, popular culture mirrors, well, our society!

Danger!

Tori Spelling chosen as grand marshal of Winterfest

Actress, reality star and craft maven Tori Spelling joins the ranks of celebrity grand narshals for this year’s Winterfest, Dec. 14. The event, which started 42 years ago with an armada of yachts touring together through Fort Lauderdale’s waterways with the theme “A Tropical Fantasy,” now includes a black-tie gala, golf tournament, White Party and shoreline decorating extravaganza plus receptions and parties galore.

Spelling, 40, has been navigating the media circuit promoting her latest book, Spelling It Like It Is. The former 90210 star has had to defend a few frank confessions she made like admitting that a racy video she and hubby Dean McDermott made may have fallen into the wrong hands and that the couple balked at getting McDermott a vasectomy because they couldn’t afford the procedure. Thankfully, the mother of four has no intention of adding porn star to her credits, as she confirmed on CBS’ The Talk, and hubby confirmed to US Weekly that, as of now, their finances are ship-shape. Now even more so with Tori’s recent Winterfest gig and requisite appearance fee (probably in the ballpark of $10,000-25,000).

Tori Spelling: My mom and I have a 'typical mother-daughter relationship' despite past feud

Actress Tori Spelling arrives at the 22nd annual Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards in Los Angeles, California April 10, 2011. (Reuters)

In “Spelling It Like It Is,” Tori Spelling holds nothing back. The former “Beverly Hills 90210” star opens up about her high-risk fourth pregnancy, marital conflicts and financial fiascos. The self-deprecating 40-year-old star opened up to FOX411 about money, her mom Candy and being a Spelling.

FOX411: We think most people would be shocked to read that you had money problems.
Tori Spelling: That was a very conscious choice to put that in because I feel people, in general, think celebrities have it all… there's never any trouble, especially financially and especially in my case coming from the family I come from. There is a preconceived notion of what we have. I wasn't writing it to say, “poor me.” I was just writing it to say, “You know what? We make bad choices too.” I made some bad real estate choices and kind of us got us in a hole for a while. I thought the story was an important one to tell.

FOX411: We were also surprised to read that you borrowed money from your mom for a down payment.
Spelling: I've worked for every penny. I have since I was 16. That was a hard thing to do.

FOX411: [It’s surprising you had to borrow it.] Your mom is worth a zillion dollars.
Spelling: I don't know any different. I would never think she should just give it... I guess every [family] dynamic is different.

FOX411: It sounds like your relationship with your mom is still tentative.
Spelling: There was so much written in the press, it blew everything out of proportion in our relationship that it kind of took on a life of its own. It was a hard thing to get past. It was a lot to put on a relationship that was a delicate relationship. Yeah it's not perfect. We have ups and downs. It’s a typical mother-daughter relationship. We work on it.

FOX411: You really went through a difficult time while being pregnant for the fourth time.
Spelling: That was a really difficult situation. I really wanted to share it because when I was going through it, it wasn't something I felt I could share with the public. I wanted desperately to connect with other women on the issue and I would go online all the time when I was in the hospital and I would see other moms going through the same experience. When everything was clear and Finn was born healthy, I just wanted to share the story. It was a really tough time for us and in my life.

FOX411: You were unceremoniously dumped by the Oxygen network.
Spelling: (Laughs) Yes. I had a great experience with my network. It had become an extension of my family, and I was hurt. At the end of the day it was like, “Wow, this is a hard lesson for me to learn because it's just business.” They didn't do anything wrong. They had to do what they thought was right for their network. On a personal level, being on a reality show is so personal. It's your life so that's why you kind of take it to a different level.

FOX411: You write that you were always sort of embarrassed of calling yourself Tori Spelling but now you own it.
Spelling: All my books have Tori in the title and this one has Spelling in it. I felt like in my mind I always had to apologize because of the labels people put on me and misconceptions. The word nepotism, I felt like half my life that was my middle name and then sometimes my first. It was a really hard thing to get past. I would say, “Hi, I'm Tori Spelling,” and kind of look down and now I'm owning it because I am following in my father's footsteps.

FOX411: How do you cope with [having] four little kids?
Spelling: I'm not going to lie. It's overwhelming. There are days where I'm like, “Gosh can I do this?” Liam and Stella are so great with the little ones, Dean's amazing and we get it done but there are days where it's really hard.

FOX411: Ever cried at the end of the day?
Spelling: Totally. I had a moment where I was just trying to make everything work and I ran with a coffee and I spilled it and started crying. Dean's like, “Don't worry, I'll get you another coffee.” I was like, “It's not about the coffee! That was my tipping point!”

Her father produced a number of shows when we were kids.

They were enjoyed by alot of people.

Tori Spelling’s mom Candy is “finally giving her daughter a million-dollar loan — but is charging her interest!” reports Star.

A so-called “source” tells the mag, “Tori couldn’t believe her mother wouldn’t just give it to her.”

“It was bad enough that Candy wanted to be paid back, but the interest part really floored Tori,” adds the purported “insider.”

The tabloid’s “source” goes on to allege, “Candy doesn’t believe in handouts.”

And Gossip Cop doesn’t believe this story.

So we checked in with a friend of Tori, who tells us the mag’s loan report is entirely “not true.”

REPORT Financially strapped Tori Spelling has 3 nannies for her 4 kids

Tori-Spelling

In Tori Spelling’s recent memoir Spelling It Like It Is the actress and daughter of TV mogul Aaron Spelling revealed how her family had fallen on difficult times financially and that she was having to relearn a more cost-efficient way of living.

The mother-of-four even told People that she and husband Dean McDermott decided not to proceed with a vasectomy because their business manager told them they couldn’t afford it. She added, “I haven’t bought a purse in three years, and it’s fine. I look back at that girl who shopped at Gucci in my 20s, and I can’t even relate. I can’t believe I thought it was important.”

Apparently her new frugality doesn’t extend to the help as Radar is reporting that she currently employs 3 nannies to take care of her 4 kids; Liam, 6, Stella, 5, Hattie, 2, and Finn, 1!

Tori acknowledged that growing up spoiled gave her a false since of entitlement:

“It’s no mystery why I have money problems… I grew up rich beyond anyone’s dreams. I never knew anything else. Even when I try to embrace a simpler lifestyle I can’t seem to let go of my expensive tastes… And then there’s my shopping problem. I’ve bought ridiculous amounts of stuff for the kids, clothing, toys, crafts.”

Radar’s source added:

“Tori has multiple storage units stuffed with furniture, clothing, accessories … over 20,000 square feet. It’s all very well-organized but she refuses to part with any of it. She could raise hundreds of thousands of dollars if she were to sell just some of it.”

Tori Spelling Makes 'Desperate' Plea to Be On 'Dancing With the Stars'

tori spellingSomething finally clicked in Tori Spelling and she is making it public that she's ready, willing, and able to be cast on Dancing With the Stars after reporting saying no several times in the past. How many times can one show be turned down before they decide they aren't interested anymore? That's the question! But how could any reality show say no to Tori Spelling? She is essentially reality show gold.

Tori, however, supposedly sees the show as a giant opportunity to fix up her tarnished image. You can't go slamming Katie Holmes' singing and call her plastic and come out unscathed. Yikes. But there may be another reason Tori's basically begging to be on the show.

Money! Money! Money, money, money! It's no secret that Tori has fallen on some financial hard times, and DWTS pays a pretty penny.

Contestants get $125,000 just for getting on the program and then they can earn up to 345,000 depending on how long they last. Hold the phone. How can I get on this show? Oh ... I need to be famous first, then not famous, then make some sort of comeback, then maybe be on some reality show, to possibly be considered to be on DWTS. Clearly, not going to happen for me. But Tori! Tori is DWTS gold.

I'm just going to go ahead and make my own plea to the producers of the show to ask Tori again because it seems this time she's totally ready to say yes. I want to see her to the cha-cha-cha with Maks. I want to see him get mad at her and her Donna Martin to come out. I want to see her in glittery barely there dresses. I want to see the tears of struggle. I want her to reveal her innermost soul when she's filmed during dance practice. And I will root for her the whole way.

What do you think of Tori's plea to be on DWTS? Do you want to see her on the show?
