Japan was selling USTs to support the yen, but it didn't work. That's where it's going to start. The ruble is still the strongest currency in 2025.
 
Still extending today on their 40 years... 3.515%... Personally, my bid would be around hmmm 50%, maybe. Nah not for a 40 year, lol.
 
Actually the 10-year looks more interesting and coming under pressure. Getting towards the high end of the ascending Triangle on the third or I suppose that could be seen as the fourth touch given its a weekly chart.

 

The interval pace for the BoJ to intervene is increasing. There appears to be a bit of stress in the system. Per Dario's comment:

I remember when it was 300-to-1 and down to 100-to-1. Now it is 160s going to 175.

It is the Japanese yen carry trade where the US Treasury is propping up the yen’s value. Is the yen carry trade coming to a halt and can it blow up things? Rickards says, “The answer is yes and yes. . .. Somebody wrote me and asked if the yen carry trade is a big deal? I wrote them back and said there is nothing bigger. This is actually the biggest story in the world.”

They intervened @ 163 and drove the yen up to 156. It will probably cross 160 tomorrow again on further weakness. Looks like everybody is dumping USTs and using the yen as a proxy. Also looks like gold purchasing heating.up with proceeds?

*Do not put it past the big banks to throw a monkey wrench in the PM breakout with some massive shorts.on news to rinse and repeat on the way back to $5k.
