Any poker enthusiasts?

If so I will post a vid or 2 in here once in awhile. Some of these vids are 6-11 hours long though so not for everyone unless your really into poker. I just play the video and stop it when I'm not in the room. Takes me a day or so to get through but usually worth the effort.
Yesterday I finished a long one. One of the most intense final tables I have ever seen. 4 solid players playing at the highest level of poker. What was really crazy though was this. Imagine wanting to write a movie script for the most insane action you could possibly get at a final table. This was it. I count help but think this thing was all scripted but it wasn't. This was a live tourney.
If you're not a poker player than you probably won't appreciate that but if you play and at least have a simple understanding of GTO this was a final table for the record books.

Ivy was one of the four on this final table I was talking about. After watching him for all those hours there is no way I would want to go up against him. Yes it's 11 hours but skip to the last 4 hours if you don't want to watch 11 hrs worth.. Be a good thing to watch while trimming and looks like you have plenty of that coming up.

no trimming this year , we took a much needed break after a good 14 year run

now we are shopping for a sailboat for a place to store our bug out bag…

I think the sailboat is a great idea. The last Bastian of freedom other than living with some tribe in the Brazilian Amazon.

I play at bet online out of Canada. I live in one of those states where the state tells you what you can and can't spend your money on. .
I 200 deposited there about 4 or 5 years ago. Still have more than that and have cashed out for 2k from a 2nd place win I had a couple years back. Won 2800. I go through spurts though and until 2 days ago hadn't played in almost a year. Then in the last 2 days I finished 14th on one and made the final table last night but got knocked out in 8th.

I always kinda liked card games but was never serious about it. Ran into a guy at work after college who really was into poker. Man, I went and played at some of their games and well, lets just say I was the easy mark. He would play on-line like 4 hands at a time.

My first job there was a after hrs gambling and achohol culture, gin rummy playing was 20% of my annual income tax free....poker was played occasionally but it was never Texas holdem...poker was a hard game to win at when your the poor young guy at the table

Where I lived, it was quite a drive to the nearest casino(s) so I didn't play nearly enough to keep in good practice.
A buddy suggested opening an account with an online poker site. That way I could play whenever I wanted, and could choose the level of competition (kinda sorta anyway) and sharpen my skills without having to drive miles and miles.

I questioned the legitimacy of online poker sites so I did a ton of research before finally pulling the trigger and joining one.

Sometime in 2002 (IIRC) I picked a site and opened an account. Once I had an online account I played almost exclusively online. There were phases where it seemed I just couldn't lose and then there where phases where it seemed I just couldn't win.

I had been an online player for a few years when those old feelings started creeping back in and I was having some serious doubts about just how safe the money in my account was. For some reason I just couldn't shake it. My buddy said I was being ridiculous and pointed to my own playing history, as well as his, as proof that everything was on the up and up. Neither of us ever had any difficulty in receiving our winnings and things appeared to be operating as smooth as silk.

I simply couldn't shake the gut feeling that something was wrong and I got out.

My buddy called me paranoid. He called me insane.

Again, if memory serves me, I'd guess it was approximately 9 or 10 months after I called it quits that the Ultimate Bet cheating scandal broke. For those who don't know, Ultimate bet was a big player, and I mean big player. They had signed two of the biggest names in tournament poker as spokespersons in Annie Duke and Phil Helmuth. They hosted the World Poker Tour's Aruba classic several years. Ultimate Bet was not just big, they were huge.

Then, it all came crashing down.
