BROWSER BOOGALOO
I start my usual mundane day with user-generated polemics. All my algorithms are distracting and ephemeral, leading me by the nose to stink data. They direct me to what programmers believe to be my perfect, personal mythologies.
My infinite scroll to grief, happiness, anxiety and neurosis flows endlessly. My face is illuminated by the devil's machine. My mind is degenerated by the pernicious glowing of GIFS, amber alerts, political announcements of "breaking news" and other viral recipes. All is preserved for posterity, floating in "the cloud".
My brain is turned into mush as I greedily eat this trashy electronic soup. I'm inhaling encyclopedic knowledge, not fact checked. This vile information is approached with trepidation as I take side-long glances at books begging to be read. Yet, they can wait because my media addiction must be sated.
