AOMC, Odyssey merge to build $1B deep-sea miner​

American Ocean Minerals Corp. is merging with Odyssey Marine Exploration (NASDAQ: OMEX) in a reverse takeover that will create a roughly $1 billion deep-sea mining company.

The all-stock transaction includes more than $150 million in private placement financing from institutional and strategic investors, alongside a $75 million pre-public raise completed in February by American Ocean Minerals.

Deep-sea mining heats up as new player challenges early mover advantage​

A newly rebranded Canadian-listed company is moving to stake its claim in the emerging deep-sea mining sector, positioning itself to explore vast stretches of the Pacific Ocean as global demand for critical minerals accelerates.

Deep Sea Minerals (CNSX: SEAS), after pivoting from its former identity as Copperhead Resources, is targeting exploration licenses in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone (CCZ) and the Cook Islands’ exclusive economic zone.

The company, which in February secured an initial oversubscribed $4.22 million private placement, recently submitted an application to the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) pursuant to the Deep Seabed Hard Mineral Resources Act (DSHMRA).

Takeaways from AP’s report on deep-sea mining​

WASHINGTON (AP) — In the year since President Donald Trump signed an executive order promising to create a deep-sea mining industry from scratch, businesses have raised millions of dollars from investors, stock prices have soared and federal regulators have raced to fast-track a permitting process.

At least nine companies are in talks with the government for access to seabed minerals, according to an Associated Press review. Sections of the seafloor from American Samoa to Alaska could be auctioned for offshore mining this summer and through the fall.

I read something the other day about new technology that allow oil extraction from insane depths in the Gulf of America where we have a oil bed thats simply huge. This insane mining technology has not only been approved but so have the emergency procedures should stem a a leak should one spring up.

Drill baby drill. Free us from that wretched Mideast.
