DHS buys a pile of ammo

Anyone besides me just a little bit worried about DHS buying 450mm rounds of ammo?? Are you also aware that they are buying up bulletproof check-points?

WTF?? They ahve been buying and storing a lot of stuff that could be construed as support for martial law.

I'm a little worried about this, especially because the ammo buy will likely tie up production lines for some time to come, making ammo get pricey in a hurry.

Hey man, I just bought a .40 because I figure those checkpoints might have some ammo left over to salvage from amateur DHS peons.

Someone should report them for hoarding like a doomsday prepper. I hear they are trying to keep tabs on that sort of activity.

KMS, that's the most worrying part. These DHS thugs are undertrained and undereducated, leaving me to worry about wether or not they will even care what they hit when they actually do start shooting at us.

Did they also buy guns?

Theyt already have the guns, and a standing contract for indefinite quantity/indefinite delivery of more. My firm also has a couple of IDIQ contracts for more mundane and inert things for the GovCo. It should alarm all Americans that our country is fast becoming a paramilitary regime.

I have to tell you guys a short story:
I recently flew from Zürich to Paris. The safety control for the hand luggage and the passengers is beeing performed by state police at Zürich airport. As I approached the control, there were two Americans in front of me, a couple. The first thing they did was taking off their shoes and belts. The policeman looked at them and asked whether the shoes contained significant amounts of metal. They denied, but they had assumed that they were obliged to take off their shoes regardless of the material they are made of. After going through the metal detector, the lady instinctively waited for the police officer to perform something like a patdown. Again, he told her that this only would be done in case the metal detector showed something. I was really baffled by all this submissive behavior.

Well, we know they can have four cops fire a few clips each at a perp in NY and only hit him 4 times. Given that, it's not that much ammo.

Interestingly, I could only find info about this on "panic" type sites, no MSM on it at all.
One site mentioned it's just spending money in the use it or lose it gov system (which should be abolished).

Of course, most of those sites point out that any of our rifles make an attacker with a .40 pretty moot at range. But that misses the point. I've got to go out and do errands now, but if asked, I'll tell you how it feels to have them storm your home.
We had the DEA come here due to their idiocy and miscommunication. You won't get a chance to use your rifle - I learned quite a lot about tactics that day. And yes, we were innocent and took them to the cleaners in court, later. Glad no one shot anyone.

Those VIPR checkpoints are scary as hell, though.

I give them credit for getting ready for the uncertainty up ahead. I also hope DHS is stacking physical gold and silver and not just lead.

Yes, we Americans who fly already know the routine, HERE. When I was leaving Lima, Peru recently their version of TSA did not ask anyone to take their shoes off. No backscatter X-ray machines either. Just a metal detector. And the Peruvian equivalents mind their manners, I have never read or heard anything sleazy about them. Never have seen a patdown there either.

The Department of Homeland Security recently stoked concern by contracting a company to provide them with 450 million rounds of hollow point bullets. Now the federal agency is also purchasing bullet-proof checkpoint booths that include ‘stop and go’ lights.

A press release from Shelters Direct brags about how they are providing the DHS with bullet resistant guard booths. Images of the booth from the company’s website suggest the guard shacks will be used to control checkpoints.

“This guard building features a standing seam hip roof, a thru-wall HVAC unit, (2) UL 752 BR Level 3 sliding doors, UL 752 Bullet Resistant Level 3 glass and a Low]E coating. Other noticeable highlights of this prefabricated steel building include metal halide security lighting, decorative window grille frames, and a “Stop & Go” light with controls,” states the press release.

The purpose behind the bullet proof booths is unknown, but the DHS has publicly announced that it plans to increase the number of unannounced checkpoints manned by TSA VIPR teams and other federal agents beyond the 9300 that were set up last year alone.

Checkpoint USA ... Papers please.

The problem I have with these checkpoints is that they are a clear and unambiguous violation of my constitutional guarantees in the fourth amendment. Where is the fucking court challenge over these random searches? How about the random searches of people exiting trains? WTF?!?!?!?

We need to be loud about this stuff people! We need to stand up for our fucking rights and demand this be stopped. Same with te TSA. We are considered a terrorist until we prove otherwise now, another clear violation of the fourth amendment.

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

The Obama agents, through the DHS and other assorted colluders, are plotting a major ‘Reichstag’ event to generate racial riots and produce the justification for martial law, delaying the November 2012 elections, possibly indefinitely, a DHS whistleblower informed the Canada Free Press on Tuesday.

The ‘Reichstag Event’ would take the form of a staged assassination attempt against Barack Obama, “carefully choreographed” and manufactured by Obama operatives. It would subsequently be blamed on “white supremacists” and used to enrage the black community to rioting and looting, the DHS source warned.


The Obama administration would then use the violence and chaos they created as justification for the imposition of martial law in major urban cities in America, the creation of DHS checkpoints, restriction of travel, and the indefinite delay of the November 2012 elections.

Yeah, he can certainly try it. However, I suspect the usurper in chief will not have the stones to do it. He knows that there are 100 million privately owned weapons in the USA, and that Americans wil never stand for subjugation.

You also have to think about why the government let everyone know they're ordering so much ammo. They could've kept it a secret, but they wanted us to know. Why? Because they want the non-sheeple to know that they're the enemy and they're next.

When you think about it, that's not really a huge amount of ammo compared to civvie use, which is huge - something you need to point out to the gun control freaks. If even a tiny fraction of that was used to shoot people, it'd be mass murder - it's many millions of rounds a year people use for plinking or stashing, not shooting each other.

Could be the gov just got a sweet deal on a big lot, and wanted to ensure the producer stayed alive for national security reasons, but I doubt that seriously. But in their scale of money-wasting, it's peanuts. They do use a lot more .40 than anyone else does so far - the round is still catching on for civvies who mostly have 9's or .45s.

They've always been able to cook up a reason to get your money or anything else they can get their hands on - even privately owned computer web servers in other countries for crying out loud. All this does is make it easier and quicker. So, don't keep valuables where they are not under your own watch - and don't make a show of having them. That's always been the best way anyway.
