I'm poor but I live within my means. WELL within my means. When I woke up one day, some months back, and saw what my "unrealized capital gains" were...I could have gone ballistic, buying all kinds of crap. Buy a new (NEW!) BMW. Or whatever car the flexing ijits on antiSocial Mediuh support today.

You know what? When you see gubbermint pfukking up a problem...it all started with "caring." The New Dealers "cared" (not really) about the poor. So they created AFDC. Which created an epidemic of bastardy.

The law-school grads of the 1940s "cared" about Religious Freedoms. So, in the fullness of time, enough were appointed to the Stuporeme Bench that they could order the Ten Commandments and moral instruction out of the classrooms in public skeulz. Now we have a completely feral, culturally illiterate generation...two, in fact. Everyone under 50.

Barry the Kenyan "cared" about Glow Bull Warming. So, not being an engineer, not being constrained by technological realities, he ORDERED FANTASY STANDARDS on new cars. You likin' those turbocharged, tinfoil-framed Obamacars that shut off at every stop sign? You likin' how the engines now fail at 40k miles?

THAT COMES OF CARING.

I don't want gubbermint to even KNOW MY EXISTENCE. Their "caring" is toxic....fatal.

What happens when the Caring Globalists cut off the parts?

I was watching an Eww Toob vid the other day - a guy who bought a 1968 Ford for a daily driver. He was talking about all the problems that damned, double-damned ethanol has caused.

ALL the rubber in the fuel system. He has to use high-pressure fuel-injection lines, simply because they're designed to work with the rotgut gas that the Caring government is making us buy. His steel fuel lines, under the car, have corroded, as has the gas tank. And, he's had to rebuild his carburetor.

He says when he can get straight gas, he gets four extra miles a gallon. I believe it - Ethanol has about 60 percent of the heat energy that gasoline has.

So. They cut off the parts; they make the gasoline so lousy that only government-spec cars can run it...AND they turn off your programmable money, if you're outside your personalized limits.

What is the point? There is no escape. Except the true escape, which is total collapse. That will give the escape of death to three-quarters of us; and have the survivors starting over. Like they did coming off the Mayflower.
 
Gasahol is the biggest fraud going, my old Corolla got 36 mpg with straight gas and about 32 with the alcohol stuff. I'm worried the 15% crap will damage the cars and lawn equipment.

“Oh, my God, groceries are too expensive,” said Gaither, a former data analyst who suffers from a disability that makes working difficult. She visits a food pantry regularly to make sure her kids eat chicken when they can. Her monthly SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits were reduced from $400 to $200 earlier this year because of changes to the program under President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

Agricultural Secretary Brooke Rollins made a startling admission Tuesday while speaking at a trade show in Minnesota, one so brazen that journalist Prem Thakker was left taken aback.

Speaking at the Minnesota Farmfest, the three-day agricultural trade show and exhibition, Rollins boasted about booting 5 million Americans – including children – off of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP.

“I know the Democrats don’t love (this), but for those of us that love work and celebrate work and want people to work and not be on food stamps, it’s a pretty big win when we move 5 million people off of food stamps, ya’ll,” Rollins said. “I think that’s a huge accomplishment!”

You're correct. You need to find alcohol free gas for those. Boat gas is way cheaper than 100 octane low lead airplane gas and won't foul the valves. There are methods of extracting alcohol from 87 octane on U-tube.

It's tedious and not complete.

You gonna extract ten gallons? EVERY tankful?

Fortunately, Montucky has eth-free everywhere. That's good for local travel; but on the road, I have to buy rotgut. I don't let it sit in the car; I try to run the tank as dry as I can, before filling up with good gas.

This ends with either a crop failure (no fertilizer) or government failure (ethanol costs about five times as much as gasoline; we have it due to GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES, as well as mandates) but, when government fails, we won't be doing much riding around, either.

Damn these Elite idiots.

Cuts to SNAP benefits push many Americans to seek help from food banks

More than five million people have lost their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, benefits since President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill passed last year. The bill cut SNAP funding, expanded work requirements and recently pushed more program costs to states. As Stephanie Sy reports, that's meant many more people are turning to food banks for support.

That implies a benevolent government.

MOST famines are politically engineered, or deliberately exacerbated. The Ukraine grain famine of the 1930s, was Stalin's plan to starve out the Ukrainian Kulaks - persons of peasant descent who had become landholders. Stalin wanted the farms for his State collectives.

The Irish potato famine was to drive the Celts off their land, to make it available for the English gentry. Not unlike what our own elites have done in California and Colorado...hey? The English way was to use a poor potato crop as leverage, to turn the native Irish into paupers and ship them off...wherever. Australia or America.

China has behaved brutally with its subjects, repeatedly. Mao's Grate Leap Forward; Tiannamin Square, where students became one with the pavement under tank treads...and many others I'm not aware of. The Chinese government has not a history of kindness.

Just as they forcibly aborted millions of unborn children, in their jackass belief in Overpopulation (and now have a demographic crisis) they can again decide that Useless Eaters have to be helped to their destiny in mass graves.

Just as it seems our own Deep State is doing. Power corrupts, no matter the culture or the racial group.

I agree, but I would invert the assertion to power attracts the corrupt.

Racial groups can have fun aspects, or at least interesting or... Maybe a guy from Madagascar shares a recipe that really makes a vanilla bean shine in a bland recipe.

Or maybe most immigrants have nothing to add. If an immigrant has nothing to add, what is there to celebrate?

Those without morals want the power, true.

But the power also corrupts those who begin the journey with noble intentions.

The biblical example is King Saul. Or, also, David, who went the same way.

Fidel Castro was a young law student, who wanted to do good for his people. Instead, he did very well...for his family and his self.

Jerry Brown was an idealistic young man when first elected governor. Remember how he refused the new Governor's Mansion commissioned by Ronald Reagan? IIRC, he kept his apartment in Sacramento. He oversaw the Prop 13 freeze of real-estate taxes...refusing to challenge the referendum in the courts, declaring that the voters have spoken.

Compare that to the old party hack he returned as, thirty years later.

Many more examples in history.
