The worst part was this...

Translation: Despite this project being a massive waste of time, effort, and money, we are not really even considering pulling the plug because of political backscratching.

99% of Yahoo! News stories are syndicated from the Associated Press. They are the same stories that you are likely to read in any given print newspaper.
