Lets get it started.
Medicinal Herbs we can grow in our gardens that we should all know about to help get us away from big pharma. I copied and pasted majority of information from the information boxes under the videos. I've used for the most part one youtuber because the knowledge she has gained from many years, starting from her grandmother teaching her to doing her own research. She is always saying she is blessed even though she has known some hard times. Her husband has just got back to work after 6 months healing a broken heal (broke it in 2 places).

There are others out there that have herbal knowledge that you can find out there and they pretty much all say the same things, but this lady shows and tells you step by step how to use the herbs and sometimes differs a little from what others say. Like she will tell you to wait at least 8 weeks for tinctures to be ready whereas other's say 4-6 weeks. There are of course many more medicinal herbs but here are a few.

Green black walnut hull tincture:

This tincture is like a homemade Ivermectin. Green black walnut hull tincture is a very important medicinal to have in your medicine cabinet. It is antimalarial, antifungal, antibacterial, antimicrobial, antioxidant, kills parasitic infections, reduces heart disease and so many more ailments inside and outside the human body. The herb is said to help control menorrhagia, the excessive loss of blood during periods. Black walnut is effective against pinworm, ringworm, tapeworm, and other intestinal parasites.

Green black walnut hulls are also a good source of beta-carotene, acids, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, silicon, zinc, tannin, B-vitamins, and vitamin C.

Dosage amount for a adult is: take 20 drops in a little water/juice 3 times a day for a week.

To use externally put several drops of tincture on a cotton ball, and dab on the athlete's foot, warts, ringworm, psoriasis, eczema and other fungal infections. Make sure that there is enough on the cotton ball to doctor the area. Note: this will stain your skin brown temporarily.

Goldenrod Tincture:

It has been proven by many studies that goldenrod is a strengthener of the urinary tract as well as your bladder and kidneys. It strengthens and tones the inner walls of your bladder and kidney. Due to its healing benefits goldenrod is the number one medicinal plant to use for UTI infections. It is also well known and studied how it has the ability to dissolve kidney stones as well as to cause them to flush out of the system. It is the leading choice for long term use with chronic issues to this area of the body.

There are so many amazing benefits of goldenrod and here are just a few: antifungal, diuretic, diaphoretic, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, astringent, antiseptic, and carminative. Preparations of goldenrod include tea, tincture, infused oil, poultice, and powder. The infused oil of goldenrod is an excellent choice for healing wounds as well as burns. When goldenrod is brewed as a tea it works wonders as an expectorant to get mucus out of your lungs as well as it opens your skin's pores to cause you to sweat out fevers as well. Goldenrod also contains rutin in it which is a very strong flavonoid. It can strengthen the cardiovascular system and supports circulation throughout the body. As an antifungal, goldenrod has saponins within the flowers and leaves and is a useful alternative for Candida type yeast infections. When brewed as a tea and either drank or used as a cleansing wash. Goldenrod is a wonderful decongestant, effectively alleviating upper respiratory congestion stemming from allergies, sinusitis, flu, or the common cold. It can be taken as a tea, syrup, or tincture for this purpose. It is one of the strongest herbs for drying the sinuses also one has to be careful not to completely dry out your sinuses which can cause health issues as well. Goldenrod - Benefits and Uses:

Usnea Tincture:

This small hairy lichen is a powerhouse healer, and unfortunately more people don't know about it. Well known as a broad-spectrum natural antibiotic. It is a antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, antiseptic as well as antibacterial. Known to heal staph infections, gangrene, heal wounds, respiratory issues, allergy symptoms, stop bleeding, sore throat, fungal infections, urinary infections, sinus infections, vaginal infections and the listing goes on and on. Have used it personally as a tincture, a tea and as a wound wash.

Usnea does have one side effect that is easily avoided. It is known to cause the body to hold on to heavy metals. This is easily bypassed by making sure you drink plenty of fluids to flush your system.

Here's another herbalist video about Usnea:

Medicinal Pokeweed Berries:

Sadly too many people have been led to believe that pokeweed is highly poisonous and it will kill them if they touch it. Pokeweed also known as Phytolacca americana, poke, poke salat, poke berry and many others. She is a wonderful medicinal plant that has to be respected and used properly in order to not become sick. If eaten in high amounts yes it will make you deathly ill but cooked, tinctured or other ways of using her is done correctly she will heal you.

The pokeweed berries have been well known as a blocker of inflammation for those who suffer from auto immune flare-ups, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, aching joints and other conditions that cause inflammation in joints of the body. As long as you follow the directions you will be fine and you need to pay attention to your body signals. Dosage is as follows:

1st Week - 1 frozen berry 1x per day 2nd Week - 2 frozen berries 1x per day 3rd Week - 3 frozen berries 1x per day

DO NOT EXCEED 3 BERRIES PER DAY

She says to clip the berries from the stems carefully and put them on a cookie sheet and freeze, when frozen, put them in a ziplock bag and put them back in freezer, don't let them thaw out. Then when you need to take one, take it from freezer and take right away, swallow whole, do not chew it.

Sweet Potato Vines:

Sweet potatoes are so healthy for us and we need to be eating more in our diet when possible. Not only the tubers are healthy for us but so are the leaves and the stems. You can add them to soups, stews, stir fries, saute them and so many other different ways are possible to use them.

Sweet potato leaves contain carbohydrates, protein, fiber as well as omega 3 fatty acids. They contain so many vitamins and here are just a few A, C, K, B1, B2, B3 and B9. They even contain more minerals calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium and zinc which are vital for the health of our body.

Some may not know that sweet potato leaves are also medicinal as well. Several studies have already proven that this plant has anti-diabetic compounds that lower blood glucose content. They also help with inflammatory problems, strengthens your eyesight, antibacterial, helps with heart health, high in antioxidants and helps with bone health just to name a few amazing healing benefits of this plants leaves. Just many reasons I love to eat sweet potato leaves plus the bonus factor they taste really good.

Making A Sweet Potato Vine Tincture:

Sweet potato leaves provide ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), Vitamin B, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, B-Carotene, B6, Thiamine, Niacin, Zinc, Riboflavin, Iron, Folic Acid, Calcium, and Protein. Several studies have proven that this plant has anti-diabetic compounds that lowers blood glucose content. Sweet potato leaves are proven to be high in lutein which is supposed to contribute to the prevention of cataracts and Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD). It is effective in killing prostate cancer: An extract of sweet potatoes leaves was found to be extremely toxic to prostate cancer, killing about 90% of cancerous cells also slowing the growth of prostate tumour/s. It acts as an anti-mutagen and tumour suppressor and it is also active against breast cancer, lung cancer, leukaemia and stomach cancer. This is just a few of many more benefits from this amazing plant. Of course do your own research to see if this plant is right for your circumstance.

Now you can also boil the leaves and stems of the sweet potato plant for 20 minutes. Strain the tea and enjoy a cup of tea once a day storing the leftover tea in the fridge for up to a week. Then making a fresh batch of tea if not wanting to make the tincture form.

Wild Lettuce and Making Tincture:

Wild lettuce which is a very important pain medication. One that does not cause addiction nor any withdrawals. Best yet it is a pain medication that is not produced by big pharma. With this being said you still need to do your research and make sure that you are gathering wild lettuce and not ragweed or some other plant.

Wild lettuce has been used for many centuries to help with pain. Many call it opium lettuce which it shouldn't be called that at all, because it has no opium in the plant whatsoever. With this being said the cells that are in the plants sap work with your brains opiate reactors which makes them think that you have taken it and that is how the pain medication part of the plant works. There is no narcotic addiction or the ability to pop positive for a drug test in the medication of wild lettuce sap. It does however work very well for pain and will cause you to become drowsy due to its sedative effects. It is a blessing to have the ability to take something for pain and not have to worry about becoming addicted to it.

Now with the above spoken about there are many other healing benefits of wild lettuce that most do not know about. Due to the fact that more are interested in the pain relieving side of wild lettuce. It is also used to help heal whooping cough, asthma, urinary tract problems, painful menstruation, nymphomania, swelling of men's genitals, insomnia, anxiety, paranoia and several other ailments. Also with these being listed you do need to do your research regardless and know what is right for you to use. Just with this added extra information about how wonderful this plant really is just know that it is always best to do your own research so that you can find the right herbal remedy for your own usage.

now that i got my gut microbiome fixed - i've moved on to controlling sugar. with these two systems in good stead one can expect to avoid chronic degenerative diseases

besides diet, things i've found/use for sugar control - cilantro, ceylon cinnamon, slow release niacin, berberine, chromium, vanadium. not well known -- controlling sugar will also help with cholesterol - the two are linked

Raises hand. I'm a cayenneaholic. Bin so for many years, every day. Started here:

Capsicum annuum
Solanaceae

A farmer used to give Cayenne to his chickens and cows when they were ailing, but never to the children when they were sick. One of the sons said, “We were worth more to him than those animals! He should have given it to us, too.” Dr. Christopher assured us that Cayenne is one of the greatest herbs of all time-though it is also one of the most misunderstood and ridiculed. He said that every home should have a good supply of Cayenne pepper.

When only a young man in his thirties, Dr. Christopher was told by the medical doctors that he could not live past his fortieth year because of arthritis, hardening of arteries, stomach ulcers, and some automobile accidents that had damaged him rather badly. He was so concerned that he started using Cayenne, working up to a teaspoon taken three times a day. By the time he was forty-five years old, he was working in a business wherein the group wanted him to have a $100,000 insurance policy because of the importance of the business deal.

Because it was such a large policy, the company required the examination to be given by two medical doctors, each to examine twice. At the end of one of these physicals, one of the doctors said, “This is astounding! You have the venous structure of a teenage boy, at forty-five years of age !”

The other doctor kept pumping up his blood pressure equipment over and over again, repeating the blood pressure check. Dr. Christopher began to be perturbed, and asked him if the equipment was broken. “It always has worked up till now, but I keep looking at your chart, which says you are forty-five years old, and yet your systolic over your diastolic is absolutely perfect. I cannot comprehend it.” Dr. Christopher assured him that it was indeed perfect, and he attributed this clean bill of health to Cayenne.

Av I was thinking about you yesterday and was going to ask you when you were going to start a naturopathic thread!!

How does one make a tincture? (haven't watched videos yet - so if it's in there let me know). Is one supplier better than the rest?

One of my favorite quotes: "a weed is a plant who's virtues have not yet been recognized"
the more one learns about this stuff, the more creation trounces randomness

the medicine we need grows under our feet! and this includes the soil bacteria/probiotics that keep the all important gut bacteria at peak performance

Usually an alcohol based (extraction/concentrate) of the herb/plant.
