Gotta hand it to Wall Street, they know how to create fear and pick up cheap shares. EXK is my largest holding and on this morning dip as soon as I thought about selling I said F it and just decided anything under 4 is a huge buying op. Never got there but I am ready if it does.

Dr. Paul is all about auditing the Federal Reserve. That makes the most sense - audit to know facts...
That's going to take some time.
Nobody is getting rid of the Federal Reserve Note anytime soon. It would devastate the world economies because it's still the reserve currency.
However, an audit might reveal things that wake people up and start the discussion about "What are we going to do now?"
If we have the gold (and Q the 'conspiracy theory' says we do) it can be used as collateral. Printing US notes a la JFK would be the obvious solution to segue from fiat to PM-backed money.
Trump also mentioned bitcoin, though I don't understand how that would be utilized, unless the government has a boatload of that lying around? It has to be acquired just as gold would have to be.
Accountants will need to find something else to do than tax prep...

Auditing the US gold reserves! Trump never mentioned that but it'd fit in very well in his program - and R. Paul would be the best man for that task. imo
I feel your pain.
I had a thousand-and-change, and was seriously thinking of buying fractional gold. Almost did it, but I thought, after the election, the riots, the panic, the blackouts, cash would be moar useful.
I honestly didn't see a Trump win in the cards. We've SEEN what the Left is capable of; I thought they'd up their game, even to launching international war to prevent Orange Man from seeking vengeance.
Why they didn't....meaning, how-come they weren't ABLE to do it...remains a big question. Maybe they sensed they were losing support, and staging a Color Revolution would have them colored red with their own blood. Who knows, what - or how - Leftists think.
So I didn't buy, and now it's Sale Time. I may go down to Ye Olde Golde Storre and buy a pocketful.
Remember there are really no dedicated platinum mines. It is all byproduct and very rare. In addition, the cost to produce and ounce is around $900USD.
I buy gold 20 franc coins (.1867 AGW) usually around spot + $5-$8 @ Bullion Exchange, Silver Gold Bull or BGASC. They are good to stack and compare other prices. I buy 1oz krugerrands at no more than spot +20 and often less. You can also find gold 100 coronas near spot.
It's looking like Sale Time is almost over.

I expect there will be some profit-taking by those who are in to ride the wave; who still think dollar-centric.
So I guess I can wait, too. The economy still sucks; the dementia patient is still decamped at the White House. People will have to pay those credit-card bills, and probably they'll sell some of their gold to do it.
If I don't buy at all, in the near future, I still have plenty. If I'm wrong, I'm only missing out on a little bit, the half-ounce or so I might have bought.

I have some pesos just because I wanted to see what they were like. In fact my very.first gold.coin was a dos pesos! <cringe>
Sovereigns can be very interesting with different types. Also look at South African 2 rand gold coins. They are the same gold content as a sovereign, but have higher premiums because of rarity.

I have bought the two Rand and one Rand coins in the past, I think they are in the lake...I like the Dos Peso and Dos y media coins as the small as gold gets without going to the gram bars. A Queen Victoria came home with me....
