Security threats to the high-tech clocks on which the world depends are driving international action to make them more precise and less vulnerable to sabotage and accidental disruption.
Countries are looking at how to strengthen timekeeping systems vital for communications, financial transactions and operating power plants, after wartime tampering and unexpected outages have revealed weaknesses.
