Iran had reported EXPLOSIONS in Bandar Abbas, along the Strait

These are SELF DEFENSE strikes again, and an official told Reuters that they were to protect US forces and maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

A military site was targeted that posed a threat.

Good, we have EVERY right to defend our interests during the ceasefire!

Hormuz to Malacca: How Chokepoint Risk Reaches the Bridge​

The industry keeps asking if ships can pass Hormuz. The better question is what happens before they try.

By the time a Master receives revised voyage instructions, the real decision has been made ashore. The cargo may have been swapped. The insurer may have retreated. The refinery may be pricing a different crude. A vessel drifting off Malacca or Singapore is merely the visible anchor of a commercial decision made far upstream.

A chokepoint does not need to close the sea lane. It only needs to contaminate the next decision...
 

Hormuz crisis enters dangerous new phase​

The Hormuz shipping crisis is approaching its 100th day with no resolution in sight and the situation deteriorating sharply in the past 24 hours, as US forces struck Iranian targets at Bandar Abbas, Iran launched drones and ballistic missiles toward Kuwait, and at least four commercial vessels were forced to turn around attempting to transit the strait.

The sequence of events began overnight when the US struck Iranian positions at Bandar Abbas after Iran launched four drones toward a US tanker attempting to transit outbound with AIS switched off. Iran responded with multiple drones and ballistic missiles toward Kuwait.

U.K. Mine Countermeasures Mothership Leaves Gibraltar for Potential Strait of Hormuz Mission​

The Royal Navy’s mine countermeasures mothership RFA Lyme Bay (L3007) departed Tuesday from Gibraltar as the U.K. and France prepare to launch a multinational military mission to ensure freedom of navigation through the strait.

More than 100 minehunting personnel from the Royal Navy’s diving and threat exploitation group and mine and threat exploitation group are on board Lyme Bay for a potential Strait of Hormuz mission, the Royal Navy announced.

“RFA Lyme Bay’s potential deployment to the Gulf with advanced uncrewed minehunting systems is demonstrative of a shift towards agile, high-tech maritime capabilities. The mission showcases rapid deployment of innovation, developed with U.K. industry in partnership by Royal Navy and National Armaments Director teams, to secure vital shipping lanes and strengthen defences against evolving maritime threats,” reads the news release.

Changes made were not clear, and the full extent of the framework is still not public.

This comes as the US is STILL enforcing the blockade, and Trump held a 2-hour situation room meeting at the end of this past week
