No doubt they can cause mayhem.A dirty bomb, or radiological dispersal device (RDD), combines conventional explosives (like dynamite) with radioactive material (such as powders or pellets). Its primary purpose is to scatter radiation over a limited area to cause mass panic and economic disruption. It is not a nuclear bomb and cannot create an atomic explosion.
