I just watched the X37-B lift off on an Atlas 5 on its way to space for some mystery mission or another. This one was exceptionally loud, even though they have a pretty good sound suppression system.

I never get tired of watching rocket launches.

I lived in St. Pete, Fla. ten years. We used to (five or six of us) ride to Cape Canaveral to watch the shuttle blast off. Usually it was a dud (you won't believe how many people it takes to scrub the space shuttle flight ) but got to see it go a half dozen times. Nice motorcycle ride, also (200 miles or so). You could see night shots from my front porch I'm told, but I was too lazy to get up and look.

It sparks something deep inside to ponder how man is reaching out into space. Good stuff.

I watched the final shuttle mission from the old LC 20 site. It was awesome to see, but a little sad that it was indeed the last bird to fly. We'll have to see how Constellation goes.
