What Is the Army’s Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon?

The Army’s Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW)—also known as Dark Eagle —with a reported range of 1,725 miles, consists of a ground-launched missile equipped with a hypersonic glide body and associated transport, support, and fire control equipment. The LRHW is intended to provide the Army with a long-range, conventional precision strike capability against time sensitive and heavily defended targets, particularly in contested environments.

US aircraft carrier breaks record for longest deployment since the Vietnam War​

WASHINGTON (AP) — The world's largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, broke the U.S. record Wednesday for the longest post-Vietnam War deployment, a nearly 10-month span that saw it take part in both the military raid in Venezuela and the Iran war.

The ship's 295th day at sea surpassed the previous longest deployment by an aircraft carrier in the past 50 years, when the USS Abraham Lincoln was sent out for 294 days in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to data compiled by U.S. Naval Institute News, a news outlet run by the U.S. Naval Institute, a nonprofit organization.

Depictions of food being provided to American sailors and marines in the Indian Ocean has raised concerned about the quality and quantity of the food. While the story has been dismissed by the U.S. Navy, the shift from the use of bases in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman, to those in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, thousands vice hundreds of miles away, have forced the Navy to adopt methods that have not been used for decades. In this video, we review how the Military Sealift Command and the US merchant marine is providing the fuel, food, and ammunition for the fleets operating in the Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean, and Red Sea.

Miniature Armoured Train Fought Hitler's Luftwaffe!​

During the height of the 1940 German invasion scare, Britain mobilized everything for its defense, including a one-third scale steam locomotive and carriages that were cleverly converted into a miniature armored train armed with machine guns and anti-tank rifles. It has to be seen to be believed. Even more incredibly, this tiny train fought against Luftwaffe aircraft...and won!

12,000 Hidden German Helmets! Secret WWII Treasure Tunnel​

On a small island off the north coast of France thousands of German troops surrendered on 9 May 1945. Their equipment was largely sealed up in tunnels dug by the Germans during the occupation, and in many cases left to rot. Among the equipment was upwards of 12,000 German steel helmets, and for the next 40 years explorers searched old German tunnel complexes for them, removing thousands. It is a truly extraordinary story.
