This is why one has to take into account the antics on the WWE when attempting to quantify what Trump is, or is not doing.

WWE for most folks is stupid game play in an arena. It's fake, mindless, but very entertaining.

It's rope-a-dope on a grand scale for those outside of the WWE. If you don't 'get' that you'll be missing Trumps intent.

I don't know if the rest of the world can comprehend the fanaticism of the fans who follow it.

There's a little bit of it in Trump's dealings with the world.

Several times in different threads I've said a lot of what T does is shtick. He's had a lot of practice.

And this is what helped him get elected. He performed for a certain type of voter and got their votes. He was acting and they liked the show. And some of the people in his inner circle are also media types. There's a reason for that.
