S- my dinner neighbor- her BIL has cancer in the spine. It has spread his whole body and there is nothing that can be done.

S and I had a recurring conversation- where I refuse to go to the dr as they dont know what they are doing.

She said the BIL went to his dr regularly and they should have found it.


Anyhow- she is balling her eyes out- I want to tell her she has to be strong for her sister and for him. At this point tho- I listen.

Men want to DO SOMETHING. Woman want to talk it out for hours. I would like to hold her and make it all go away.

That is a real shame, Penn. As we get older, we will see more of this... You are doing good by being there. That is very decent of you, shows real kindness.

Perhaps "bawling her eyes out" might have been a better choice of words...
