President Trump has seized command of the DC police force and is deploying the National Guard there as well. Why? Because, according to the White House, violent crime in DC is "out of control." Critics say Trump's actions are "unlawful." Are they? Because of unique features in the way DC is governed, the President has more power over Washington than any other city in the US, and -- for now, at least -- President Trump's actions seem pretty clearly within his legal authority.

Does anybody REMEMBER that this happened? Schiff and Swalwell were both surveilled and investigated by a federal grand jury for SEVERAL YEARS?

Didn't watch the vid, because I knew there'd be so much FOD in there, and so much Narrative building. In ANY discussion of this - Trump cheerleaders, TDS patients, I don't care. Even the objective, won't really stand out until the dust clears.

That said...Trump is not only within his rights, he's managing DC properly. AS INTENDED BY THE FRAMERS.

Home-Rule is a travesty of what the District was supposed to be. STATES are where criminal law is to be written and enforced. Cities/counties are subdivisions of States. The District was unique in that it was to protect Federal officials from reprisals of politicized state governments - imagine, if you will, the Maryland state governor arresting Trump. Or the Virginia state governor arresting Barack J. Christ.

The District was intended as neutral territory. Think of how the Mafia made Las Vegas, no-man's land, with no faction or mob in control. Think of outdoor feral cats...they have territories, but they also have neutral areas where they can meet, fight if they like, service females in heat, and then go back into their safe zones.

So. The District should be governed by the Congress, except that law ENFORCEMENT is an Executive function. That means, Bondi, acting under direction of Trump.

One moar thing: The District was NEVER intended to have such huge residential districts. I'm not in favor of making DC a state, or putting it under a state; but the District should be whittled down to the actual business area of government - the Capitol, White House...I'm not clear on the geography of the various bureaucratic hives; they should be in that area. End of the day, everyone leaves the district except the resident of the White House.

Let Woke Maryland deal with all the drugs and black killers.

I live in Montana. Prior to my moving here 12 years ago, I lived in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I left Cleveland 18 years ago, and what it has been - aside from the chaos of several forced relocations - it has been an absolute transformation of my world. In Cleveland, I've had eyeglasses stolen out of my car. I've come out of the grocery store to find every window broken on my little econobox car. I've had BS tickets from city cops, when I lived just off a Zero-Tolerance Zone...the cops were flexing, and I was easy game. I've been in Cleveland traffic court, where I couldn't understand what was happening, the judge's Ebonix so thick (Sistah Judge wasn't that slender, either). The crime, the chaos, the reckless driving...watching these hyphenated-Mehhikanz take over the neighborhood that had been my grandparents', with their street crime, their runnin ho's, their sellin schitt outta da fone boofs. (We still had phone booths back then).

I come to Escanaba, Michigan, and everyone is friendly, trusting...nobody worries about auto break-ins. I rent a house, and the landlady (we met in her office in person) tells me to just go look. Where's the key at? Oh, it's unlocked. Go look around and tell me what you think.

Montana is more testosteronal. Men trust each other, but 60-percent are wearing firearms. The big distrust is, yer not onnah them Californicators, are-ya? My funny accent - a mixture of Jersey, Midwest, Texas and California (Navy time) makes them wonder.

Since I'm naturally antisocial, I still haven't fit in, but I'm not viewed with suspicion. It's no obvious my license and my car tags are both dated (plate series) so I just move along. I have the Glock in my waistband, sometimes, now, too...since we're now starting to see plenty of new faces, and many of them are Compton blacks. Yeah, we've become one of the places California pukes up its hominid waste, now.

Police officers will tell you this has intimidated so many victims from coming forward and reporting crimes.

Why?They wanted to make it seem like CJR was reducing crime and they wanted to make this the new national policy.

In New York, millions of dollars was given to Democrats to make this a top issue.

That’s why they pushed it into the state’s 2019 budget.
