The REAL cost of EV's outed

A fanboi's uncritical repetition of propaganda ("Electric Viking"?) convinces me of little. Those damn things have been out for two years, now; and if they had such miraculous range capacities, we'd have HEARD of it.

Instead the $90k-ish Ford EVs are stacked on dealers' lots - almost literally. Ford sells about one F150 Lightning per dealer per MONTH. And those are probably leases with heavy incentives.

Meantime, we hear of all the fun people are having trying to actually live with them. Everything from getting parking tickets while parked to charge (at least 45 minutes for a partial fast-charge, IF you can find a working charger) to attached-garage fires and, more recently, explosions in garages. Public and home garages.

Seems when Li-I cells go into thermal runaway, they emit explosive gases. And oxygen, so a CO2 or halogen system, even, is ineffective.

Everything from at least two nice homes in suburban Denver (somehow vids taken by the fire companies, got past Eww Toob censors) to the loss of the MV Morning Midas and three other car carriers. You want your own home to be next - having some Eww Toober with an iPhone, videotaping the dramatic burning-down of your house, with a nice new battery car in the garage?

And then there's all the electrical/processor/software "glitches."

Not buying it. This fanboi better rush out and buy his dream toy, (a BATTERY CAR, just like he used to play with at home!) before they're taken off the market for lack of sales, the unsold units turned back to Ford and scrapped.

"miraculous range capacities"? Did you even watch the video? He was addressing longevity of batteries.

The USA doesn't have the infrastructure for me to want to take an EV on a long road trip. But for daily driving I don't see a "range" issue with them. I own mostly ICE vehicles. But recently bought some used EVs. I can charge "free" as I'm off-grid on solar. Great SHTF vehicle for my purposes. And no, as they are not Lithium Phosphate batteries (extremely safe) I don't charge them inside, just under a detached carport. But park them in my workshop when not charging. If used hybrid trucks become affordable, I may get one of those someday.

Uh, no. I saw the guy's account title and heard a few words, and that was it. I have no time or patience for fanboiz. The whole auto industry is on the verge of collapse, and stupid cheerleaders like him, egging the Woke auto execs on in rushing battery-powered devices to market...they and their noise and bad ideas, are why.

Yeah, government was part of the issue. I remember other times government tried to hustle us into techno-crap we didn't want. The 1974 starter-interlock, for one. Lasted nine months and then was repealed, and automakers gave instructions how to defeat the interlock.

But today, instead, these "influencers" of dubious sexual orientation, just kept agitating, PRETENDING that everyone wants a battery device to replace their cars.

So what is there to learn about the (misnamed) "Mustang" (not a real Mustang) that we didn't know a year ago? I've read reviews of Ford battery devices. I've seen the price tags put on Car Questions Answered Youtube vids. I don't know what this guy can add, except that he REALLY REALLY wants reality to be different.

Sorry for the wordiness.
