Yet another Silicon Valley pole smoker pumping the virtues of AI and tech being the panacea to the worlds ills...

It works great until it doesn't, then a whole bunch of stuff goes kablooey.

It was a thought provoking read with a helicopter view of systems, history and such. While he is largely right about technology (science and engineering) being driving forces for economic prosperity, he does ignore that technology is a tool and tools are used/employed by humans. Tools can be used correctly towards a good purpose, used incorrectly towards a good purpose or used correctly towards an evil purpose. Some technology is more dangerous than others. It is purportedly an issue that Einstein struggled with greatly. I don't believe that LLM based AI as it exists right now is a danger like some pundits exclaim, but then, some asshole or idiot might just Skynet the WHOPPER on us some day.
