You can buy and hold / store Grammes of gold in operations like bullionvault or goldmoney so, just like bitcoin it can be accessed and owned by the average person. I agree that buying 1oz gold coins will likely move beyond the reach of many and that currently it’s realistic to buy and hold silver but I would argue that any crash will cause the metals to become unavailable rather than get panic dumped because the logic for owning and holding is long term protection rather than short term gain.I think the point that should be made is globally we will move towards a bimetalic system because a simple gold standard will not work without some kind of severe crash. An exclusively gold standard will lock out prosperity from many who do not already own it because spot will be too high for the average person to catch up.
Silver.will allow the average person to achieve prosperity especially in a falling GSR.
