A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to halt construction of a $400M White House ballroom

WASHINGTON, March 31 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge blocked Donald Trump on Tuesday from proceeding with construction of a $400 million ballroom on the site of the White House's demolished East Wing, halting for now one of the Republican president's most visible efforts to reshape the seat of American power.

U.S. District Judge Richard Leon in Washington granted a request for a preliminary injunction by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a nonprofit organization that brought a lawsuit alleging Trump exceeded his authority when he razed the historic East Wing and launched construction without approval from Congress.

The decision by Leon, an appointee of Republican President George W. Bush, keeps the 90,000-square-foot ballroom project on hold while the lawsuit continues.

Trump says 4,500-seat arena will be built for UFC fight at White House​

President Trump detailed new plans for a UFC fight the league is planning on the White House grounds in June.

“I’ve been involved in a lot of big events, I have never had an event that has had more interest than the UFC fight we have right at the front door,” Trump told reporters gathered outside the Oval Office on Monday.

Soil dumped from East Wing demolition has toxic level of metals: NPS​

Debris dumped at a nearby golf course from the White House’s East Wing demolition tested positive for lead, mercury, and chloroform, among other toxins, according to a recent report from the National Park Service.

The Park Service began dumping debris from the East Wing demolition site at the historic East Potomac Golf Links, a course used by previous presidents. An interim report requested by the National Park Service from Jacobs Engineering Group found toxic compounds and pollutants, traces of fuel, pesticides, herbicides, and toxic metals at levels above laboratory reporting limits at the historic golf course.

I hear a great deal of screeching from the democrats about President Trump's arch. Pretty small potatoes compared to Newscums train to nowhere, I would think. But that's just me.

To be fair, he's saying WHEN driving downhill, to take advantage of the fact and ease up on the gas.

We all know that driving habits can greatly impact the gas mileage one's car gets.

That's actually good.


Because if it were done 100% with private funds, it would make it easy for a dem to tear it down as soon as one happens to get elected.

It would only have cost the donors, not the taxpayers.

This way, if some public monies are involved, it'll be a lot harder to justify doing that.

Using public money, the Dems will be stuck with a Trump ballroom.
 
A ballroom is an empty space that you can turn into office cubicles whenever you need them. It appears this really is some kind of underground bunker in case of war or civil unrest though....
