American and European companies already plan to produce HALEU on a commercial scale, but it will take them years before such production is operational."Production of HALEU is a critical mission and all efforts to increase its production are being evaluated," a spokesperson for the U. S. Department of Energy said. "We understand the need for urgent action to incentivise the establishment of a sustainable, market-driven supply of HALEU," the spokesperson said.
Although the enrichment level of HALEU is well below the 90 percent required to build a nuclear weapon, one needs to obtain special licenses for its production and transportation, let alone the need to carry out production upgrades to meet additional safety and certification requirements."Nobody wants to order 10 reactors without a fuel source, and nobody wants to invest in a fuel source without 10 reactor orders," said Daniel Poneman, chief executive of US nuclear fuel supplier Centrus Energy Corp. told Reuters.

nancy and them sold it all to the Russians, way back when they were gonna set the Ruskies up with that false flag event that included a large blast of some typeThe US has no Uranium of its own?
We have plenty of uranium. The problem is turning into fuel to run in our reactors. Russia has been the main supplier for a long long time. The US has no Uranium of its own?
A good % of it.Didn't Hillary send Russia our Uranium?
Safer too. Just can't make plutonium for use in bombs from thorium. What a load. Thorium fueled reactors work just fine for that. They just require a little different design and they're cheaper to fuel ,too.

Uranium One or Two???
idk, smells of desperation to me and it seems they're working overtime to bring us the latest in fear mongering narratives
Man, she sold us out cheap. I'd have held out for at least twice that. lolI recall that Granny Scandals got $150M donated to her sham charity foundation after she brokered that deal.
