Is someone like Volker going to be appointed to the Fed and jamb on the breaks and tank the economy?
Is the dollar going to be driven off a cliff and revalued at 10 cents?

I would prefer the Volker route because it's familiar, I know what to expect.

The other senario is unfamiliar. Will a WW3 break out. What do the great thinkers on here think?
 
Nope.

A Financialist will be appointed - someone who brings back ZIRP. That, to keep the stawk prices rising (through QE bank buy-ins and corporate buybacks) and real-estate prices up.

You'll see more Debt-Is-Good policies like 50-year mortgages. This is one thing that Trump and the Left are on the same page with - grow the debt, hand out moar, run the printing presses, and look at selected metrics to tell the fools, "Everything is FINE!!"

Nobody has the stomach to tell the public the hard choices ahead. Nor has the Jabbed, befuddled sheeple the ability to understand it.

In ten years, we get Kaiser Klaus' version of "Technocracy" - Surveillance Marxism from a global power-center.

No (Trump wants rate cuts)

and No. Volker rate shock would bankrupt the country as USA would not be able to roll over existing debt at substantially higher rates.

This is my biggest fear. Seems like lots of nations are pushing the envelope these days. Eventually someone is going to draw the last straw and start the dominos rolling.
 
The Polar ice caps are going to melt like the millionaire who flys his won private Jets says at International forums that pay him 7 s just to show up at.
The Swedish kid with no qualifications get angrier.
NATO folds because Orange Man drops two airborne divisions on Greenland.
WW3 happens and we all get nuked.
Harry and Meghan write another "Tell All". So does that runt kid of that soccer player.
All the whales die from some mysterious whale aliment.
Silver goes to $500.
NYC finds out maybe Islamic socialism really wasn't a good idea.

May we live in interesting times.

D'Onald knows that if rates take off, the default is inevitable. He won't want that to happen on his watch.
