Nearly 11,000 Bottles of Bourbon Are Stolen From a Philadelphia Warehouse. The bottles, worth about $500,000, were taken in what company officials called a “coordinated cargo theft operation carried out in broad daylight.”


Not really a big deal but I wondered how much each bottle of bourbon might cost. Interesting discovery…

$500,000 divided by 11,000 bottles equaled 45.454545454545454545454545454545454545454545 dollars each. <heh>

But that's a lot of work, fencing that. People who buy hot hooch, don't look for the fine stuff - Fireball would be moar their speed.

(yah, I know, I'm low-class. When I was in my beer phase, I drank Utica Club and Iron City and Weidemann. Now, in my old age, I drink Metamucil with Geritol. In between, I moved from Jack Daniels to Jim Beam to Old Crow.

Bottom-shelf. Make your dollars go further!...in two days, you won't remember what you did after the second serving, anyway...

....and just in that region of the country?

I never realized there were so many sophisticated and coordinated bourbon thieves.

Because I've had some hangovers for the books...but I don't think I've actually had a hangover in about 15 years.

The shakes, yes. Scrambled brains the morning after, yes.

But no pain.

I have no idea why. It's not even that I'm chronic - I drink maybe four times a year, now, down from three times a week in my prime. I don't mess around when I do do it...Christmas/New Year's is usually my time for record-breaking - but no real pain.

Must be an age thing.
