I'm slowly becoming convinced.
In this day and age, it would be easy to do.
And the implications, frightful. We know Corn Pop is dying of brain-rot; he's had signs of it for five years now. Alzheimer's patients typically don't live that long. Yes, I know, Reagan; but he was an impressive physical specimen.
For all we know, the real Corn Pop could be on a ventilator somewhere - or on ice.
