US judge threatens Rudy Giuliani with contempt in election workers' case

NEW YORK (Reuters) -A federal judge on Thursday threatened to hold former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani in civil contempt for failing to surrender his luxury apartment and other belongings to two Georgia election workers he defamed and owes $148 million.

U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman in Manhattan had on Oct. 22 ordered Giuliani, formerly a U.S. Attorney and personal lawyer to President-elect Donald Trump, to hand over the property to Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea "Shaye" Moss within seven days.

The property would partially satisfy a judgment that a Washington, D.C., jury awarded Freeman and Moss in December 2023. They say Giuliani is resisting their collection efforts and ignoring questions about where his property is located.

At a hearing on Thursday, Liman suggested Giuliani had been "farcical" by claiming on a form that no one in the world had knowledge about his assets.

Rudy Giuliani’s lawyers don’t want to defend him anymore in Georgia election worker case

In the latest piece of bad legal news for Rudy Giuliani, his lawyers no longer want to represent him in a civil case stemming from his defamation of former Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, who are attempting to collect on the multimillion dollar judgment they won against him.

The specific reason or reasons for the two lawyers’ requested withdrawals aren’t fully clear because the court filing asking for withdrawal is partially redacted.

However, the filing on Wednesday from lawyer Kenneth Caruso, which was echoed by lawyer David Labkowski in his own filing, says the grounds for his withdrawal motion “arise under Professional Rule 1.16(c)(4), (6) and (7).” He noted that the rule provides that:

Looks like he's starting to give it up..................

Rudy Giuliani has turned over his 1980 Mercedes-Benz convertible, his luxury watch collection and a diamond ring, marking a partial end to a saga where the former mayor of New York City has tried to outrun the court system as two Georgia election workers try to collect on a $150 million debt he has owed them for a year.

'I can't pay my bills,' Rudy Giuliani says in courtroom outburst

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Rudy Giuliani was rebuked by a federal judge on Tuesday after the former New York City mayor interrupted a court hearing, pleading he could not pay his bills because two Georgia election workers to whom he owes $148 million have tied up his assets.

Giuliani, once a personal lawyer for U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, spoke ahead of a January trial to determine which assets he must surrender to Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea Moss.

The two election workers won the $148 million verdict from a jury in Washington, D.C. after accusing Giuliani of destroying their reputations by lying that they tried to help steal the 2020 U.S. presidential election from Trump.

Who let the dogs out???

Rudy Giuliani Unleashes Bizarre Complaint In Contempt Hearing: Report

A courtroom sketch artist said Rudy Giuliani complained to her that a drawing she did of him made him look like a dog.

The former Trump lawyer’s reputation is going to the dogs after he was held in contempt Monday for failing to turn over assets to election workers he falsely accused of ballot manipulation. He was ordered to pay them $148 million in the defamation case. A judge this week ruled Giuliani had repeatedly violated a court mandate to fork over personal assets to the two Georgia women who were poll workers during the 2020 election.

However, the former New York City mayor apparently had smaller matters on his mind during Friday’s hearing.

During a break, Giuliani asked the artist, Jane Rosenberg, if she would make him look “nice” after a previous portrait that Giuliani found unflattering, Reuters reported.

“You made me look like my dog,” Giuliani said, according to Rosenberg, who was covering the hearing for Reuters.

Giuliani Blasts ‘Crooked’ FBI That Won’t Return His Calls

No one at the Department of Justice (DOJ) or the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will return Rudy Giuliani’s calls, and he’s really not happy about it.

“I tried to reach them today, they didn’t call me back,” Giuliani said on conservative podcast Bolling! Friday.

President Donald Trump’s former lawyer claims he was calling up FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi to complain about the DOJ and FBI allegedly appointing investigators of the Capitol Riots to top posts at the bureau’s Washington office.
