That island was seized by the communist government to make a massive military base during the cold war, all kinds of underground tunnels and stuff...utter corruption.

I was going to stay theee for 3.months to get out of the South Florida heat. I also read they are protesting the president of Albania and not Kushner's group.

For more than two decades, Albania did the unglamorous work in their bid to join the European Union: overhauling its courts, vetting judges and opening negotiation “clusters” with Brussels in rapid succession.

Then Jared Kushner went for a swim.

What followed was not simply a pitch. The legal and political conditions needed to build it were soon put in place. The site itself was among the most heavily protected stretches of coastline in the Mediterranean. The Vjosa-Narta lagoon, home to flamingos and more than 200 migratory bird species, sits inside a designated protected landscape; Sazan Island lies within Albania’s only marine and terrestrial national park.

Police use tear gas and pepper spray against Albanians protesting Trump family plans to develop unspoiled island into a luxury resort​

TIRANA, Albania (AP) — Albanian police clashed with protesters Thursday as an anti-government demonstration — part of protests triggered by plans for a luxury development linked to U.S. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner — turned violent.

Police fired tear gas and pepper spray at protesters who were pelting them with rocks, eggs and other objects. Authorities said 12 police officers were injured and 18 protesters were detained.

Thousands of protesters are flooding the streets of Tirana in the biggest unrest Albania has seen since the collapse of communism.
It began as the “flamingo revolution”, sparked by Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump’s plans for a luxury mega-resort on a public nature reserve island. But the protests have since grown into a wider challenge to Prime Minister Edi Rama’s government, which is accused of selling off Albania’s coastline to the elites.

It felt like this story was over a year old already but I see the timestamps on the OP and it's only been about 3 months. Wild. Good on the Albanian people for not letting this go. If only the American people could be bothered to tend a similar flame in their hearts over the Epstein issue.
