This really is an amazing story. Though you couldn't say they did "well", this is just about the only case I'm aware of where someone has become completely self-sufficient. Any prepper or wannabe should see this just to see how hard that is, and how they managed it at all. And in Siberia! Holy crap!

yep, in Russia they call it "Russkiy Chelovek", which more or less means Russian People/Man, and it's meaning is "we can stand ANYTHING thrown at us", be it Nazis, our own government, or whatever. It is impressive.
