First off the American mint isn't giving anything away. But consistently the ASL is the highest priced bullion coin. Maybe a bit under the Libertad but the Lib has more regulated mintage. An oz of silver is an oz of silver and as long as it says ".999 silver" and has monetary value then its a bullion coin. And the ASL is a lovely lady but Ive stopped buying them due to price. Maples are cheaper. Britiannias are cheaper. ASL have premiums approaching $5 and thats a lot for 1 oz of silver. Philharmonics can be had for under $41 with premiums of $1.58. Maples for $41.48 with premiums of $2.13. Britannias at $41.61 with a premium of $2.30....ect...ect....ect

Dont get me wrond. I love the strutting lady. but is it worth $42.85 with a $4 premium ? At best ? Heck even Libertads can be had for $42.39 with a $3.07 premium from Kitko. Yet admittedly most houses sell Libs for a lot more. I love bullion coins for their beauty and their art work designs but sad to say there are silver coinage from other countries that outshine the ASL's, "tho it is a very nice coin".

I started out stacking coins from my favorite countries. 1, America. 2, Britain. 3, Canada. 4, Mexico "I love the Libertad". But now I'm branching out and looking to stack from elsewhere. My original buys were all ASL's but my last order was also ST. Helenas, Koo-Koos, Maples, Morgans, Libertads, Britannias "more of", Krukerrands, Philharmonics, and I want more from Down Under. And 90% junk. Always more 90% junk. This month I think 10 oz bars. I love the RCM .9999's but they are running $420+, which is a lot. I'm thinking a 10oz Germania since I dont have any and they can be had for $407.50, $1.46 per oz premium. I can live with that.

But I think I'm done with ASL's and ASE's for awhile despite being nice coins.

Premiums are too high right now. Junk silver currently has the lowest premium, but resale is under.spot at the.moment. The.labor.for.minting the coins is already baked in with 1964 prices.

I bought bullion last dip around $36. I'm holding off right now. I might buy some 90% junk and a 10 oz'er. We'll see.

Thing is I dont see it going under $39 again. And again we'll see. I did buy 4 peace dollars at below spot but that was only 4 per house hold. 4 for $118. Current spot is $120.87. I'd of bought 100 if I could of. Monument has a $10 roll of quarters for $284.36 with spot at $282.48, tho of course some metal is rubbed off on both the junk and the peace bucks. Still, $2.57 is a premium I can live with. So this month its a roll of quarters and a 10 oz at $401. No premium, Govt. bullion this month but were I to buy it would probably be secondary market government bullion under $40. Silver Kangaroos aint bad at $40.51.

Thing is near $40 silver coinage is the new normal and I dont think its coming down much if at all. I really dont think there will be an under $36 dip like the one I last bought at. We'll see. I bought Koo-Koo's at $40.96 and they are over $43 now, again. Beautiful coinage in lovely satin capsules but I only bought them to fill a gap and didn't buy in great numbers. 90% stack fillers and larger bars are the way to go for now. That dip was my last foray into coinage for awhiles but If I see the market going Bull long term I will make a move again. I have the cash set aside and cash set aside is currency wasting away. I dont like sitting on currency anymore. They have ruined the dollar.
