DOJ moves to drop charges against men arrested after Minneapolis ICE shooting
By Kanishka Singh
WASHINGTON, Feb 12 (Reuters) - The U.S. Justice Department has moved to drop charges against two men charged with assaulting Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in Minneapolis in January after an officer shot a Venezuelan immigrant, a court document showed on Thursday.
The top federal prosecutor in Minnesota, Daniel Rosen, asked a judge to dismiss the charges, writing that "newly discovered evidence in this matter is materially inconsistent with the allegations." Rosen sought the dismissal with prejudice, which means the charges cannot be reintroduced.
The shooting that wounded the Venezuelan man, Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis, came during President Donald Trump's widely condemned surge of immigration enforcement actions in Minnesota.

So they are saying the 4,400 were not illegal immigrants? That they were citizens or otherwise legal residents with green cards?Courts have ruled 4,400 times that ICE jailed people illegally. It hasn’t stopped.
WASHINGTON, Feb 14 (Reuters) - Hundreds of judges around the country have ruled more than 4,400 times since October that President Donald Trump’s administration is detaining immigrants unlawfully, a Reuters review of court records found.
- Detained immigrants have filed more than 20,000 lawsuits seeking their release
- Trump administration continues detentions despite court rulings
- Sheer scale of the lawsuits threatens to clog the judicial system
- About 700 Justice Department attorneys deployed to represent the government in immigration cases
The decisions amount to a sweeping legal rebuke of Trump’s immigration crackdown. Yet the administration has continued jailing people indefinitely even after courts ruled the policy was illegal.

So they just randomly pulled someone over to do that?
So they are saying the 4,400 were not illegal immigrants? That they were citizens or otherwise legal residents with green cards?
Or that some nit picky judges are doing legal gymnastics to come up with ways to free illegal immigrants?
Just using the generic term "immigrants" leaves it unclear as to what is actually going on in these cases. What kind of immigrants we talkin'?
Too bad we can't see how it really started.
Commit adult crimes, get treated like an adult
Can't agree more. That's why I think Watts is labeled as the primary aggressor. A 45 year old man arguing with a high school girl he doesn't know, about something neither of them have any control over, speaks volumes.
As for the kid kicking Watts ride she shouldn't have done it but for him to get out of the truck and physically attack the kid also speaks volumes.
Had that happened around here Watts would not fare too well with the law.
Be interesting to see how this plays out.
BTW............thanks for fact checking the post.
She started the whole incident, not him. Can't agree more. That's why I think Watts is labeled as the primary aggressor. A 45 year old man arguing with a high school girl he doesn't know, about something neither of them have any control over, speaks volumes.

WTF is up with school officials letting kids walk out of class? Especially for stuff they have no control over?Hey Joe.................what's up with MAGA psychos attacking school kids. You've got grown men wearing red hats, driving around in pick up trucks and attacking school kids for expressing views they don't like. I don't get it.
ICE isn't gonna help them. Trump don't know they exist. But they are running around loose defending stuff that is undefendable.
WTF??????????
Who is Michael Brown? Man defending ICE arrested after school fight
A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a boy who was part of a group of high school students engaging in a walkout in protest of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Michael Brown, 54, of Grand Island, Nebraska, was arrested for child abuse. A boy has also been cited for assault in connection with the incident.
Why It Matters
Clashes between anti-ICE protesters and the public have increased in recent weeks, as students have held walkouts in states across the country to protest immigration enforcement. Earlier this month, a Texas man wearing a MAGA hat attacked a female student during a walkout.

That's called called skipping class and unexcused absence and should be punished.

If that means getting out and beating shooting stabbing the attackers, or just flooring it and running them over, it's 100% justified IMHO.
It's called "liberal schools." I went to one, in the early 1970s...we had an "open campus." We were required to show up for homeroom, 10:30; and anything before that, or after, was up to us, our teachers, and what grift/bribery was offered (you can imagine, in that Free-Love era).WTF is up with school officials letting kids walk out of class? Especially for stuff they have no control over?
Not for people blocking traffic and attacking people and/or their vehicles. Real protesting isn't doing that shit.Dear god man. Have you no compassion?
The former. So are the ICE employees doing a basic and lawful job, or are they acting as Gestapo agents, killing and arresting innocent people?
Or are the mediuh liars doing what liars always do?Is there a back story?
Or is ICE just machine-gunning ordinary people?
I reference the scene in "A view to a kill" where the Christopher Walken character uses a machine gun to kill his employees in the cavern he uses to cause an earthquake in the Silicon Valley.
So are the ICE employees doing a basic and lawful job, or are they acting as Gestapo agents, killing and arresting innocent people?
