Korean yards roll out US projects as Lutnick demands ships, not MOUs​

On Thursday, South Korea’s leading shipbuilders unveiled a wave of US partnerships covering naval vessels, LNG bunkering ships, smart yards and workforce training as Washington opened the operational centre for its $150bn shipbuilding alliance with Seoul.

The Korea-US Shipbuilding Partnership Center opened in Washington on Thursday as the headquarters for the Make American Shipbuilding Great Again, or MASGA, program.

Fifteen agreements were signed by more than 30 shipbuilders, defense companies, technology groups, universities and research organizations. The projects cover shipyard modernization, supply chains, workforce development and joint technology programs.
