Probably most members of this site already know this for a long time, but still I thought it could still be interesting to share this article (based on a Q&A I did with Nick Barisheff). It contains a checklist for buying gold safely.

OK. I fell for the gambit and went over to read. My opinion:
a) very generic in content. and
b) not all that helpful.

I have two checklists:

1. Stacking: Haz extra money? Buy phyzz.

2. Trading: Gold crossing 50 sma going up? Buy. 3-4% trailing stop. Done.

I buy gold when I have extra money come in. Most of what I buy is from one of two local coin shops.

I do not trade! The Bearing has a demonstrably bad track record...
