Diving Into Philadelphia's Oldest Working Power Plant

Feb 22, 2026 #CommercialDiving #Philadelphia #PowerPlant
The Future of Philadelphia’s Energy: Diving Inside the Schuylkill Station Power Plant.
Philadelphia’s oldest power plant is undergoing a massive transformation. In this video, we go behind the scenes at the historic Schuylkill Station to explore the evolution of its massive boilers and the plant’s ambitious mission to go carbon neutral by 2030. As a major contributor to the Philadelphia Steam Loop, this facility provides essential heating and energy to the city. But the transition to high-efficiency electric boilers comes with a catch: these modern systems are incredibly sensitive to sediment. That’s where commercial diving comes in.
Join me as we discuss:
The History of Schuylkill Station: From coal to a greener future.
The Philly Steam Loop: How this massive network heats the city.
Carbon Neutral 2030: The new electric boilers.
Commercial Diving’s Role: Why underwater maintenance is now more critical than ever to prevent sediment damage and system failure.

POV: Baltimore Bridge Recovery

Mar 29, 2026 #keybridge #maritime #disaster
Two years later, we’re finally telling the story of what it took to recover The Francis Scott Key Bridge after an unthinkable collision with The Dali Cargo Ship sent it into the depths.
From the inside, this is what it was like working long days under constant pressure alongside experts from around the world on one of the most complex maritime recovery operations in modern history.
Global Collaboration: How international engineering teams coordinated to reopen a major shipping channel
Engineering Under Pressure: Heavy lift cranes, salvage operations, and the challenges of underwater debris removal
First-Hand POV: Real experience from the recovery site during a high-risk, time-critical operation
This project involved large-scale marine construction, bridge collapse recovery, underwater diving operations, and complex logistics to restore a critical transportation and shipping route.
If you're interested in engineering, maritime operations, heavy equipment or large-scale infrastructure recovery, this video gives you a real-world look. at just that.

Confined Space Entry Underwater: Diving on Live Intake

May 10, 2026 #confinedspace #diving #dangerousjobs
We're sending our commercial divers into an underwater confined space inside an active dam and going down to the bottom to service a live intake. We'll also inspect its Johnson Screen to show you how it works and how this dam's internal intake structure delivers water to a treatment facility. This dive highlights the importance of diving safety training and understanding confined space hazards and precautions. We also go over the dangers of Delta P and explain the difference between Galvanic Corrosion and Electrolysis. This video provides a detailed look at what it's like to dive inside a confined space.

1952 HOME MOVIE ABALONE DIVING AND HARVESTING IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA GG50385

May 17, 2026
Shot by an unknown filmmaker, this 1952 home movie shows abalone harvesting off the coast of Southern California. In Southern California, wild abalone was historically harvested along the mainland coast—particularly around Point Conception, Palos Verdes, and San Diego—and at the Channel Islands National Park. Prized spots included Santa Catalina, San Clemente, Santa Cruz, and Santa Rosa islands.
