Government got too big. The FED's job could be done with a computer if we had honest politicians. We would not need all the government spending if the communists and parasites were fewer in number.
 
To have sound money, you first must have moral people in government.

We don't have that. First, because we've become a debased populace. Second, because since the repeal of Amendment 17, we've grown a Political Elite Class, who fashion for themselves and their own, lifetime sinecures in supposedly-elected office. There they live out their days, fat on graft and drunk on power. And there they get senile and screw up the nation even more than they had in their earlier lives.

Bidet and Vodka Nan. Just the two most-obvious examples, today.

We have to both destroy the Political Elites, with Constitutional Term Limits (Convention of State Delegates, Article V) and we have to somehow find a way to reacquaint ourselves with the enduring values that had made us strong. Morality and restraint.
