NATO nations 'very alive' to Russia threat as ex British Army chief issues war timeline

Former British Army head, General Sir Patrick Sanders, has issued a stark warning that the UK could be at war with Russia within the next five years. Sir Patrick, who retired as Chief of the General Staff last summer, urged the nation to prepare by constructing bunkers and bolstering air defenses.

Sir Patrick expressed his concern over the government's lack of urgency in strengthening the country's resilience, despite clear indications of escalating threats. He suggested that if Russia were to cease hostilities in Ukraine, it would be capable of launching a limited attack on a NATO member within months.

We are surrounding the Russians with a NATO F-35 fleet par excellence. To understand the F-35 you have to realize its ability to get an unvarnished picture of the battle space, and not just that, but to share that picture with every other F-35 and most of NATO's 4'th and 4.5 gen fighters as well as many ground units and commanders. You just saw this in action with the IAF obliterating Irans air defense network and the supposedly invincible Russian S-300 and S-400 air defense network.

Believe me the Russians understand the power of NATO , and especially American, airpower. And starting next year we'll begin operating B-21 stealth Bombers, a program that will end with 100 to 200 aircraft along with our huge air refueling fleet. The F-22 fighters have just been upgraded and USAF's NGAD next Gen stealth fighter is already flying.

If we have a weakness its getting the USN's ships and boats built and operating but the USN is still the premier instrument of naval power in the world. The missilery and drones we'll be churning out in the next few years is awe inspiring.

All of which uses a whole lot of silver so start buying even at $38.

U.S. Destroyers, Norwegian Navy surveilled by Russia in High North

Russian ships and aircraft recently monitored a U.S.-Norwegian Surface Action Group (SAG) conducting joint exercises in the High North.

A Russian warship and a low-flying IL-38 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) were spotted shadowing destroyers USS Mahan (DDG-72) and USS Bainbridge (DDG-96), dry cargo ship USNS William McLean (T-AKE-12) and Royal Norwegian Navy frigate HNoMS Thor Heyerdahl (F314) and fleet oiler HNoMS Maud (A530) as the group sailed the Barents Sea, north of the Norwegian country of Finnmark, the Norwegian Armed Forces said in a Monday news release. The release did not specify how many Russian ships and aircraft were involved, nor did it say when the ships were monitored.

Drone attack: Norwegian shipowner collaborated with Russian paramilitary group

When Copenhagen Airport was shut down by two to three large drones on Monday evening, the Norwegian cargo ship Oslo Carrier 3 was a short distance away.

The ship is owned by the company Bulkship Management, which is part of a larger, international Norwegian company called Oslo Bulk. This is stated on the company's website.

What is not stated is that they also have a branch in the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. Until 2022, the Russian branch also had its own website, but after Russia invaded Ukraine, the Russian website was first turned into a site and then closed down completely.

Of course it was no mistake. Russia had several objectives.

Firstly they wanted to test NATO air defenses and radar frequencys. Secondly they wanted to cause the expenditure of very expensive air defense missilery over cheap ass drones, thus reducing the number of missiles in our inventory. Thirdly, and most importantly, they want to drag NATO , and most of all America, into this mess Putin has created so it makes Putin appear to the Russian peoples, who are being slaughtered in Ukraine, and enduring harsh economic conditions at home, as the Savior and defender of Mother Russia from the America who pretty much blows up everyone.

So call it technical, military, and political, why Putin is sending those drones. What he really wants are those F-35's heading toward Belarus or Russia itself loaded with offensive missilery. Putin wants to be the bombee as long as the price isn't to high. And he knows it would take a sustained American bombing campaign to make Russia really hurt.

Trump, and NATO, for all their bluster are being cagey by holding back and allowing Putin to drown in his own blood. Russia right now is in severe economic distress. If we can get Turkey and Hungary to stop buying oil and LNG from them it might just break their backs.

On NATO's eastern flank, bunkers and anti-drone nets set to protect power grids

By Andrius Sytas and Marek Strzelecki

NERIS SUBSTATION, Lithuania (Reuters) -Four NATO and European Union countries bordering Russia plan to build concrete bunkers and anti-drone nets at vital energy facilities under a plan to protect their power grids following Russian drone incursions.

Violations of Polish airspace by Russian drones this month and multiple drone sightings, including one that forced the closure of Copenhagen Airport for several hours, have raised concerns about NATO's defences on its eastern flank.

The airspace violations have also increased concerns about the vulnerability of energy facilities in the area, and Poland, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia have drawn up a plan to protect their power grids which they now treat as a matter of urgency.
