Any city I live in, I want NOT to demand conformity to certain political or social-engineering attitudes. Police are to enforce LAWS, against noise, littering, violent crimes. The city should not be hectoring me to support Pride, or Save-The-Whales, or to put a You Crane flag on my shirt.

This is where that leads - friction spills over into violence. There are some who resist this mandatory conformity of ideation; and then there are extremists who get angry that the persons in charge are not going far enough.

There are stages of the liberalizing of a city. First you get a avatar personality or slate of persons, elected into office. They conduct Transformation - suddenly everything is Woke, fake and ghey.

You have the beatnik and coffeehouse crowds, cheering. You have support rallies, poetry readings, drum circles, marches - all the Pride stuff.

Then comes the iron fist. If you're not Woke enough, you get reduced or reluctant city services and considerations - you get zoned out of existence; or your establishment is raided, or you're castigated in public, perhaps by mediuh stars, newspaper editors, news-presenter suits.

Then comes the violence. The extremists, who are always out there, are enraged things are not going far ENOUGH. Or they just want to put their favorite cause on television.

This will do it.

Colorado, once a great place to live, is DONE.
 
You forgot to mention liberal AHs that tear down statues and rename military bases that don't fit their narrative and agenda.

Boulder is ultra liberal. Peacenicks. This is the wrong crowd to make an example out of.

Family of Colorado attack suspect taken into ICE custody​

The family of the Egyptian national charged with attempted murder after an antisemitic Molotov cocktail attack in Colorado has been taken into ICE custody and are being processed, a DHS official confirmed to CNN Tuesday.

The suspected attacker, Mohamed Soliman, has a wife and five children, according to court filings. It remains unclear what the family members’ US immigration status is and whether the whole family was taken into custody.
