Hmmm, since that wood is at least 700 years old and it is on a small mole hill, could it have been salvaged from a boat that got stuck on the mountain when Noah's Flood waters receded?

And that must be some astounding wood to have not rotted away centuries ago.

well, they did say that it was in need of repair... and it WAS treated with silver....
