National Lottery 'fixer' reveals how to avoid ruining your life if you hit the jackpot

From Colin and Chris Weir to Adrian and Gillian Bayford, there are plenty of examples of apparently happy marriages which ended after a massive National Lottery win.

Others such as Britain's youngest winner Callie Rogers and the notorious 'lotto lout' Michael Carroll have been declared bankrupt after rapidly blowing all the cash.

But Andy Carter, an adviser who has helped guide more than 2,500 winners over 20 years, is among a team who help Brits try to stop a jackpot ruining their life.

The father-of-two works as a lottery 'fixer' who spends his time speaking to winners in the hours after they learn about any prize from £50,000 to £195million.

Long term, gambling is for suckers and 98% have no business playing. I will, however, continue to play the occasional lotto quick pick for a couple of bucks.

Make it very occasionally. The dollar would be better spent on virtually anything else.

You'd have at least 30x better odds of driving down the road behind an armored car as it hits a bump causing a bag full of cash to fall out of it, than you would in winning a power ball drawing.
......and probably all other lotto games too.

That's how unlikely it is to happen.

^^^ did they refuse to pay him, like we hear of so many casinos doing when someone hits for the big prize?

^^^ did they refuse to pay him,

Nah. From the article:

By the winner’s account, the alert nearly went unnoticed. “When the notification popped up I dismissed it because I was mid spin,” Rose M. said in the operator’s announcement. “When I saw my balance increase I thought there was a glitch.” She said she called her sister first, then drove to Atlantic City the same night to confirm the payout. She plans to help people close to her, return to school for a master’s degree, and travel to Greece.
