Who like them ? Who buys them ? I have some. Not a whole lot but some. I bought "some" thru the year because Ive been to the RSA three times big game hunting and have fond memories of the country, tho I wouldn't go now. Then again Ive worked mid shift in August on the south and west sides of Chicago so whats the difference ?

Some people dont like the color of the 22K gold but I'm alright with it. Being the first, and only, Govt. coin with no denomination on the face is kind of cool. I see the can be found under $5K now and I'm thinking of buying another. I'm just waiting to hear from my taxman before launching for more gold. Theres no such thing as ugly gold in my book. Gold is the bomb !

any bullion coin is just a matter of preference....and kruggerands are a pretty plain coin visually but every coin dealer knows what they are......i have noticed this last 12 months they are not as popular as some of the "prettyier" bullion coins so they are discounted ...... back in the day late 70s when they were the only game in town i traded them many times with no issues..... personally i love kruggerands as they are the ultimate utility gold coin.......... but in the current market i would prefer to buy 24k pretty coins as long as the premiums are similar ... back in the day i liked to buy 1/10 kruggerands (along with 1ozers) by the mint tubes in my opinion thats the ultimate in divisibility and utility for gold.....posting this because not many people realize 1/10 kruggerands are a option

Most of my rounds are K-rands.

I dislike the color; but that's not what I bought them for. They're ubiquitous. And - I just learned a year ago - 99-percent pure gold coins, like Canadian products, are soft and easily damaged. US Mint products have ten percent silver. Canadian coins can get marred with handling.

The ten-percent copper added to the K-rand gives it a distinct color, and I suppose, maybe not all fraud makers will think to duplicate. And, while they sell less than some other coins, it's a small difference. They are certainly easy to sell.

I have a few Golden Eagles interspaced in my collection. I haven't properly counted or inventoried them - I gained them over 25 years.
