NEW: An urgent phone call from Saudi Crown Prince MBS changed Trump’s decision at the last minute:

President Trump had intended to declare a complete ceasefire and end the fighting against Iran in exchange for the immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

However, a tense phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman dramatically changed the plan.

According to White House sources, bin Salman begged Trump not to stop the war:
“This is a historic opportunity – we must finish the job and weaken the Iranian regime once and for all.”

In exchange for continuing the fighting, Saudi Arabia offered an unprecedented package of economic and strategic incentives.

Key points in the offer:
• $100 billion transferred directly to finance American war costs
• Full and immediate normalization with Israel after the fall of the regime
• Direct oil pipeline from Saudi Arabia to the port of Ashdod, turning Israel into a major energy hub
• Investment of approximately $1 trillion in the U.S. economy + purchase of $500 billion in American weapons
• Establishment of a new regional defense alliance, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, and other moderate countries under an American umbrella
• Joint naval force to control the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb
• Funding of strategic U.S. bases in Israel
• Joint reconstruction fund for a post-regime “secular and moderate” Iran

In the end, Trump announced a temporary ceasefire, not an end to the war as was expected.

Senior diplomatic sources describe the move as “a historic turning point” marking the beginning of a new regional order.

So what will that be like?
Blowin up any ships that try to slip through?
It's hard to keep up with this guy. Last week he demanded the strait be opened and this week the US is going to close it.
I cant wait for his next speech

"We have the highest oil prices ever. Huge surge in oil, record breaking oil prices and we are making allota money right now".

Forget everyday Americans are paying 5 or 6 bucks a gallon and maybe a lot more. Him and his billionaire buddies are going to make a lot of money. Thats all he really cares about.

The commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy said on January 7 that the ruling royal family of Saudi Arabia were actually Jewish, and that their conflict with Iran harkens back to 7th century battles between Muslim and Jewish tribes.

The speech was aired on Iran's Bushehr TV and translated by MEMRI, the Middle East Media Research Institute.

“We cannot bear to see injustice in a Muslim country that is perpetrated by the Zionists and the seed of the Jews,” the commander, Gen. Alireza Tangsiri, says in a video recording of the speech.

Trump’s BOLD Move STUNS Hormuz Crisis Watchers... | Victor Davis Hanson

For decades, presidents talked… warned… hesitated. Trump acted. And everything changed.

Victor Davis Hanson lays it out clearly—Trump didn’t chase empty promises or endless wars. He applied pressure, precision, and timing to cripple one of the most dangerous regimes in the world, all while avoiding the massive losses we’ve seen in past conflicts.

This wasn’t reckless. It was controlled, calculated, and effective.
While others appeased, Trump confronted. While others delayed, he delivered results.

Listen to Victor Davis Hanson break it down, and see why Trump’s approach isn’t just strong leadership… it’s strategy at the highest level.

If we have total victory then our troops can come home now right? Of course not because we really don't have total victory.. What we do have is exactly what you would expect for the money spent. By that I mean the US spends 800billion - a trillion a year on military. Iran was spending about 5 billion a year and just increased that recently to 9.5 billion. The US has the capability to bomb the shit out of everything wit very little retaliation in the way of aerial losses.

The US says t costs us a billion a day at least to be over there. With all the airlifting going on my guess is that cost is going much higher. Roughly 40 days so far at a cost of 40 billion. Versus Irans 9.5 billion annually so probably less than 1.5 billion spent so far. So we have outspent Iran by 38.5 billion to destroy a country that wasn't even working on a nuclear weapon. In their minds, they can now be attacked for not developing a nuclear weapon so I would say we just pushed them into making one. Might as well. What do they have to lose now?

Trump says we have to get the nuclear material they do have. Only way to do that is boots on the ground. It's not worth losing 1 solider to this war. There still is 0 evidence that Iran was working on a nuke and after the bombings last year they still hadn't even dug themselves out of that hole yet. Unfortunately we may never know what Bibi has on Trump to make him do this but it has cost him at least 40^ of his MAGA base and will definitely cost him the midterms. The American people aren't as stupid as he would like to be live. Not all of us anyway.

Beyond the costs mentioned above, we also have the added inflation around the world as well as the economic shutdowns that are occurring because of this energy shortage. The real effects haven't even been realized yet because of all the shipping that was already in transit when this started. We also have the oil infrastructure of the entire middle east that has been decimated. Shipping wont even matter before too long as there wont be anything to ship. All of that infrastructure thats been destroyed has got to be in the 30-50 billion dollar range. So total cost to the US and it's partners probably exceeds 75 billion already and Trump wants to go back for more? I guess thats a lot easier to do when bombs or missiles aren't dropping on the US.

Anyway, I'm not sure what the measure of victory is but monetarily (Which is what Trump always cares about) we are getting our asses kicked.
