Posting this for entertainment. No clue how true this may be, but true or not, it's one neat story.

^^^ i wonder if we ever will get the whole story this sounds like Jimmy Carter's failure but bigger.

This war has next to nothing to do with what was done in 1979.
It has everything to do with it. 1979 legitimized the creation of the first Islamic state. One that is virulently anti-American in all regards and gave the fundamentalists a huge base of operations in which to attack American and western interests. The Kids who climbed that walls of that embassy in 1979 are now the old men running Iran today, or at least whats left of them.

The Political and Legal system of Iran today, based on Shariah, is one established from the revolution of 1979 . Iran has been hostile to the west, most of all America and Israel, ever since this revolutionary Govt. was installed thru force. They were screaming "Death to America" in 1979 and they never stopped. It has nothing to do with Japan and Shintoism.

Sigh, all that brainpower thru the decades and they just never under stood Iran. To bad they never asked me. I'll tell you a story at the end of this and it will give you an idea of what were dealing with, how half measures will never be enough, and how absolutely we can never let them have the bomb.

The conflict did not begin with the nuclear issue, sanctions or regional expansion. It began in 1979, when Iran was transformed from a key American ally into a revolutionary headquarters. The seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran was more than a diplomatic crisis; it signaled that the new regime would derive legitimacy through permanent confrontation.

Washington's misperception of the regime dates back to the revolution itself. Many American policymakers viewed the upheaval through the lens of anti-monarchical politics rather than Khomeinist ideology. The result was the greatest strategic loss of the Cold War: America lost a key ally and gained a radical state aligned with anti-Western forces across the Middle East.
The rebellious coalition surrounding Iran’s then-leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini extended beyond traditional clerics and included Islamic terrorist actors aligned with broader anti-Western movements. What emerged was not merely a new government but a transnational ideological project. Washington underestimated that transformation then and has often underestimated it since.

Khomeinism became the ideological engine of the regime, combining religious absolutism, anti-Westernism and political violence. This is why Washington has repeatedly misunderstood Tehran. The Islamic Republic is not merely a regime with whom America has policy disagreements. It views survival and confrontation as inseparable, while anti-Americanism, hostility toward Israel and the export of revolution remain central to its identity.
From the aftermath of the 1979 upheaval, Tehran began building transnational networks. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and later the Quds Force cultivated and directed regional Islamic terrorist movements, eventually creating the "Axis of Resistance" — a transnational evil network stretching from Lebanon and Iraq to Syria and Yemen.
Two years before this, in 1977 before I ever put on a uniform and swore to protect my country, Myself and a bunch of friends went to D.C. where the Shah was to visit Carter. No we weren't Iranian but a friend was and his mother was big into pro-Shah groups and she got us free airline tickets and hotel stays for that week end and all we had to do, besides drinking and playing poker, was show up at some Pro-Shah rally as he and Carter kissed on the front lawn of the WH across the way.

So were sitting there checking out the babes and hitting on them when suddenly thousands of these masked Lunatics came running at us across the parkway carrying bats and big sticks, and wearing home made masks, and proceeded into our crowd in some make shift bleachers and started pounding the shit out of everyone they could. It was almost like they appeared out of thin air and caught everyone from surprise.

They beat without mercy kids, woman, the elderly, no quarter was given. I was on crutches at the time from a sprained ankle playing football and I threw one to a buddy and started swinging the other one braining as many of these sonsofbitches as I could as we pulled kids and the elderly away from them. We were saved by park police mounted as the horses went bananas and stomped and kicked the shit out of them while the Army surrounded the WH and clobbered everyone with tear gas.

That was my first experience with Islamic Fundamentalism. These were anti-Shah forces, college Visa holders, and infiltrators from Canada. All military aged males and I couldn't help thinking at the time "how in hell were they allowed into our country to pull this radical Islamist attack on peaceful demonstrators ?

Of course now its common. That screwball Biden Inc. let in illegals by the millions and who knows how many sleeper cells are waiting for attack orders ? But this was 1977. Yes there was a lot of Islam inspired terror attacks back then but they were 30 second clips on the nightly news.

And it was then that I realized there is no legit Diplomacy with this bunch. No deals made that they would honor. Hirohito's Japan was far different. Japan was a Industrialized society and Shintoism thru-ought history was never a religion as we know religions. Shinto has no founder, no scriptures, no fixed dogmas, and it has no connections to militarism or even politics. Its an ancient belief in the "way of Kami" and it was more a cult then a religion as we know them.

Even if we bomb Iran to the peace table they can never be trusted to keep any deal thats not in their interests and the ruling elite will use any amount of force to stay in power, showing no mercy in keeping it.

Iran Can’t Be Trusted, and Trump Turns the Tables on Kristen Welker | Victor Davis Hanson

The FBI’s targeting of traditional catholics, updates on the U.S-Iran war, and the Left’s continued misuse of media; this is “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.”

As tensions with Iran continue to dominate news headlines, questions are growing about whether diplomacy can still deter the regime’s nuclear ambitions and aggression.

Victor Davis Hanson argues that recent events have exposed the failures of past U.S. policy toward Iran, while also highlighting deeper problems at home—from FBI investigations targeting traditional Catholics, to media bias at CBS and NBC, to Trump’s recent callout of NBC's “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker.

On today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words,” Hanson examines the challenges facing America abroad and the institutions losing public trust at home.

Thanks for sharing your experience and viewpoint SilverStacker. Being born in the early 50's myself, I feel as you that Iran will always want "death to America" and if allowed to have nukes will use them to hurt the USA as best they can, even if it means suicide.

Forty-Seven Years.

How many newsreel films have you seen, taken after German surrender, of the war, the extermination camps, the stacked carcasses, the starving victims still alive...the public buildings, all adorned with Nazi signage, the uniforms, the army of political enforcers...

Go forward, from 1945 to 1992. West Germany was at that time an astoundingly-prosperous, functional society, making precision electronic goods for industrial, medical and consumer use. The East, deprived of freedom, was finally rising up (and we didn't know, their slimy government functionaries were also planning to worm their way into the reunited German Deep State, but that, too, was in the future).

Did we trot out all the death, all the bombing of London, all the atrocities, when Reagan came into office? By what the Left of the time told us about him, he would have been expected to do just that - start a senseless war based on offenses of two generations ago.

It didn't happen. It shouldn't have happened. Two generations is a lot of time and a lot of change.

And I'm not going to make myself into a political tool and repeat these tired, mindless Talking Points about what happened in 1979.

When they tell you who they are it might be best to believe them.

143 bundles of human hair.
26 kilograms. Hidden inside pillows.

Smuggled out of Iran and just seized by Armenian customs officers.

And for many Iranians, one thought immediately comes to mind:

The hundreds of young women who disappeared after the January 2026 protests.

The daughters whose families still don’t know where they are.

The daughters whose bodies were never returned.

The daughters whose mothers and fathers are still waiting for answers.

The Islamic Republic has spent 47 years murdering, torturing, raping, executing, and disappearing its own people. Families have spent decades accusing the regime of covering up deaths, returning mutilated bodies, and harvesting organs from prisoners and victims killed in custody.

The regime has committed so many horrors against its own people that when authorities intercept 26 kilograms of human hair being smuggled out of Iran, many Iranians don’t see a customs violation.

They see the daughters who never came home.

One question:

Whose hair is it?💔

^^^

I'm glad we have time to worry about that...now that we've got all the Epstein predators in prison.

That deviant Billy Gates. Wasn't it a wonderful display of justice, what he was sentenced to?

👿

WE NEED TO START DEALING WITH OUR OWN, VERY-REAL PROBLEMS, AND STOP THIS STATIST NATION-BUILDING SCHITT.

Watched this on tv. No clue if it will happen but here's hoping 🍺

  • President Donald Trump claimed that the U.S. “just made a great settlement of the war,” subject to the “finalization of documents.”
  • Earlier Thursday, Trump said he canceled an upcoming round of U.S. military strikes against Iran, claiming on Truth Social that talks with the Islamic Republic have been “approved.”
  • Stock indexes soared, and oil prices sank, right after Trump’s announcement
