I'm very concerned about prepping, and I think that surviving a disaster must include keeping my valuables safe and sound, and i'm concerned about getting the right safe in which I can store my important documents, jewelry, spare keys, and some cash for emergency. I don't want to survive a disaster without anything at all in hand

and you can take my wifes approach; EVERYTHING in the house is a safe. It would take a bugler DAYS to get her stash...

Besides a safe, you can also look at burying some in a cache. Lots of options to make caches out of. Just remember always throw some scrap metal a few feet above the cache so that if anyone is searching with a detector, they find the junk and move on (hopefully.)
